I'm just curious as to why some men find it easier to have unemotional sex than to have sex with someone they really care about. It's as if it's easier just to go have sex with some girl and get up and leave with no feelings attached to it. Why is that?

It's normal for a young man to enjoy sex without having an emotional attachment. It is normal for a young woman to have sex while caring and possibly loving the man. That's just how we are. Men, as they mature do change and most seek one partner with whom they share their live and whom they love. That's why I think it is so critical for teenagers to abstain from sex and wait until they are ready for marriage. In general, having teenage sex, hurts the girls more because of the emotional attachment. Nonetheless, all of this is completely normal behavior and proves that although our bodies tell us one thing, our minds aren't ready.

Unemotional Sex is purely physical: Sex for the sake of sex. People who meet, are physically attracted, choose to have sex, and then move on with their individual lives without ever connecting again. Some people argue that such a thing is impossible, but I think it depends on the person. For people who treat sex as an important part of a relationship, then Unemotional Sex is probably impossible. For those who just like to have fun, they just "don't mind unemotional sex."

A lot more men and women are having sex without any strings attached, and it seems to be increasing. Society's approach to sex is changing from it being something serious and meaningful between two people to something that people just want to do. It may seem that more men are into it because they are less emotional than most women, but yet there are a fair shair of women who want to do the same thing.
I have seen a fair share of married adults who want to have sex because they aren't getting enough at home, for what ever reason, and they venture out to get more without strings attached. Again an influence on how society looks at the meaning of sex.

It continues to amaze me that women/girls (I don't know how old you are) can't get it through their heads that men are totally different than us. And just because they are different doesn't make them 'pigs' or the scum of the earth. Primarily, the most important part of sex for women is emotional. Primarily, the most important part of sex for men is visual/physical aspects. This is why, when you engage in sex with someone on a 'primary' level, you are going to experience this difference in how the act is perceived. Men can't help it that it makes them seem insensitive and primal any more than you can help that to a man you seem needy and clingy and annoying.

Of course, as a relationship grows and matures men eventually become just as emotionally attached to the woman and vice versa. Also women, once secure emotionally in the relationship can begin to enjoy the physicality of the act more.

Basically, what I'm trying to say is that there is a natural progression to things and sadly, in this day and age, everybody tries to push and shove until there is no natural progression and then they wonder why things seem so screwed up!!!!

If you are in a relationship where you are having 'unemotional' sex with a guy it's probably one of two reasons:
1. you gave in to him before you waited to
see how much he really 'cared' for you.
2. As long as he's getting what he wants
he doesn't care about what you want.

I can't tell you how to fix this relationship. But try and think about 'slowing down' on your next relationship and maybe things will work out better. Plus you will feel better about yourself and more in control of your life and relationships. Good Luck.

From the beginning of time women have always been the emotional creature. Don't get me wrong some men have feelings as well, but men have ego's and they will hold it up. for example , a child will go to mommy first because mommy is more sensitive than dad. and it's sad because if a guy has sex with 20 women he's considered a stud if a woman does the same thing she's labled a slut. Men have been trained to feel that.

For most men, it is very easy to separate emotions from the act of sex. We know the difference between the two. Women typically have a harder time separating the two. I really think it has to do with how our brains are wired. There are some women who are good at keeping their feelings separate, but they are a rare find.

Also, for men, ejaculation is a biological function that we have to have, just like urination. We have physical needs that we need to fulfill. When we aren't in a relationship with someone we care about, we still need to have sex, so that means having sex with people we don't care about. When I was younger and unmarried I didn't even really need to know their last name, just that they were able to arouse me. That's just how men are and always have been.

Women have a much bigger investment at stake when they have sex.... the result for them can be 9 months of pregnency and 15-some years of child rearing. Whereas, the man has little at risk. This is similar to the male/female roles in other animals... where the male may have several females as sexual partners. But why is it like that??? Not sure about humans, but many of the other animals rely on it for survibility of the species. I tend to think that isn't so for humans. Thus, it must be true.. men (me included) are pigs and often just want the sex.

selfishness would be my number one answer. With out getting into detail, my goal is to make her so happy and not to stop until I have done what ever it takes. I think that love is an emotional feeling and that can come and go. I also think that if you love some one , you have to make that special person your best friend. They should go hand and hand. My wife is my best friend. I know that I don't always look great but she is still always by my side. I don't care if she has put on a little weight. She still is the love of my life. However just to say thanks and get up an leave, well should say something to the person being left behind. USED! Make up your mind now about that and discuss it with this person, be careful that the person isn't just another player trying to satisfy themselves. Either it is a friendship , with love and trust or it isn't. Don't close your eyes to the thought that this person needs to go, just do the right thing. You have to live with this answer.

OPINION ONLY: You might think about the traditional sexual role for the male in the broader animal kingdom. The male of the species reputedly has a built in mechanism that drives him to procreate with abandon, and especially at the expense of other males - - in other commonly used words: "spreading his seed" -- to assure his genetic survival. This answer always talks about Darwinian forces and the male's libido being hard wired towards polygamy.
I frankly don't buy it. First of all there are exceptions to the above in the animal kingdom (a phrase that generally means creatures other than homo sapiens). Say-- ducks for example who pair off for life.
As a 60 year old man...who has traveled all over the world in my business, with far too many nights away from home, I can tell you that monogamy has so much going for it that it is suprising more men haven't discovered it. I think the view of man, as a caring partner, and nurturing father, is growing in stature in the eyes of society.Don't give up hope. There are many men out there that share your implied view that commitment, monogamy, partnering, are important.

Girls can be like that too. As long as it's consensual and both sides understand what the deal is, I don't think there's anything wrong with it. Sex is great! If you're not with someone in a proper relationship, that doesn't mean you don't want to have sex with people. I think your emotions are your own responsibility. If sleeping with someone can only mean something emotional to you, I would avoid doing it unless you're sure the other person feels the same way.

I'm a woman, and I enjoyed sex with guys I wouldn't necessarily want to have a relationship with. There's nothing wrong with having fun; you don't have to have drama or "feelings" attached to everything you do. It all has its time and place - including the NSA relationships. I love gourmet food, but sometimes I feel like a Big Mac, and I enjoy the hell out of it when I get my hands on it. Just because something doesn't have dramatic "feelings" behind it, doesn't invalidate it as a means to enjoying life. Lighten up.
