According to the Bible the shape of the earth is flat.

This was christian dogma until the 15th century and anyone who dared suggest that the world was circular in shape was burnt at the stake for heresy.

It just goes to prove that christianity is based on a pack of lies.

How on earth can the bible be the word of god? Surely god would have known that the world was not flat!!

Try reading Richard Dawkins' excellent book The God Delusion. It is a real eye opener. I feel rather embarrased to admit that I used to be a christian but now my eyes have been opened to the light shown to us by science.
