Selfishness, and we are all guilty of that, myself included.

Spartacus I think you're right because it causes so many other things>>>>>speaks for self. I don't like being led up the garden path whilst trusting someone only to find out they were lying all the time. I will have to think about my reasons why.

Squirrel said about pretending you're someone you're not which was interesting. I think that depends on the circumstances and how close you become. If you go over the line of becoming close with someone then pretending is a barrier and closeness will never work. If however you don't intend to become close then natural barriers may be a form of function in what ever circumstances you're in. I think we all pretend with outside people. But the barriers come down as we form relationships and closeness. So TRUTH becomes more important. Pride stands in the way of truth I think. Pride means you can't admit truth. Interestingly pretending we are someone we aren't is a barrier to truth. I wonder if thats a sort of pride.

There are a lot of politically correct answers here as well. I don't know what that's all about. We must be able to connect that with pride somewhere down the line.

Patriotism itself isn't undesirable. it somewhat is only what facilitates a human beings to maintain their way of lifestyles. It consolidates human beings to act as one unit while a rustic desires to act as one unit with the intention to proceed to exist, which comprise in cases of international conflict. nonetheless, it somewhat is an emotion and it somewhat is manipulated. it could develop into undesirable via fact politicians desire to pretend plenty extra issues threaten the survival of a rustic than surely do in actuality. as an occasion, evaluate the fallout of 9/11. It grew to become into undeniably tragic, yet in basic terms 0.001% of the inhabitants died that day. It did no longer threaten the survival of the rustic. Bush, whether, took that tragedy and manipulated the sentiments of patriotism it fostered to start a conflict for his very own own motives. on a similar time as organic evil can result from manipulating human beings's patriotic thoughts, this evil does no longer take place via fact human beings are patriotic. It happens via fact human beings decide for to be stupid.

yeah, pride is one of man's greatest misfortune, but i do know that pride is just a manifestation of self-centeredness. If you think and focus too much about YOU, it won't be easy to take a bow and say "i'm sorry, i've done wrong" to the world--and that's the beginning of pride, hardening and hardening until you yourself cannot move from where you're stuck. So for me, it's really self-centeredness (a.k.a. selfishness--and all related traits related to the SELF)

proverbs 6:16 says that "There are six things that Jehovah does hate; yes seven are things detestable to his soul: lofty eyes, a false tongue, and hands that are shedding innocent blood, a heart fabricationg hurtful schemes, feet that are in a hurry to run to badness, a false witness that launches forth lies, and anyone sending forth contentions amoung brothers." These are human traits that God the Almighty hates!

Our quickness to tell lies. We have a tendency to lie before we own up to the truth. I understand the need to be covert for reasons of safety, but yes right along with pride our lying is right up there in my book.

PS: Cussin like a sailor is another indication of our ignorance of late.

Pride, along with avarice (greed) and all other 'traits' are not particularly human but mere social constructs. As one of our supposed uniquely human abilities 'cognition' may be considered a trait its under-utilization would get my vote.

Judging of others. If God is love and Judging is Dominion. what do you see when you go to church? next time listen and count how many times the pastor judges, or a neighbor, shocking if you pay attention

Absolutely. Pride won't let you admit that you have other problems, as well. Selfishness is probably the next worst.

Well, pride was Lucifer's downfall and then there's the love of money. But, I'd say disobedience to God is the worst because it contains a multitude of sins.
