Because the Bible calls them dragons and/or serpents. Also the words behemoth and Leviathan are used to describe dinosaurs. Which that word was not coined until about 1841, therefore none of the other translations use that word.
In the beginning, nothing was a meat eater. Even the lions and wolves ate vegetation. It wasn't until after the fall that the world knew death.
There is a website drdino.com that explains in more detail than I can provide here. Go to it and watch the free videos. Also the Creation Evidence museum has a picture and cast of footprint of a therapod and human side by side.
I went to school and my instructor was a paleontologist, so on one of our field trips we went there. At the time I was an ignorant little kid that thought that science was the answer to everything.
I think instead of listening to what others have said you need to read the Bible yourself. If your position is so strong it should be no problem. After all if you don't know what the Bible has to say about certain things, it is the best place to find the information. God bless.

Smarter then us?
Smarter then us?
Most dinosaurs (according to modern science) had brains smaller then a walnut.
While you may feel free to debate whether humans and dinosaurs ever lived together, I think you will be hard pressed to find any evidence that they were "smarter" then us.
But answer this? Are elephants larger and stronger then men? But we manage to live with them. Are lions faster and better hunters then us? Yet we managed to live with them.
You seem to believe that there were thousands of every kind of dinosaur living at every point on the earth. In fact, modern science teachs that they dinosaurs were as spread geographically as they animals are today. You do not find kangaroos in Canada. You do not find skunks in Asia. You do not find lions at the Antartic.
So in the days of dinosaurs, you did not find all the species everywhere. Some had very limited ranges. Most of the large meat eaters were solitary animals, that patroled a sizable territory and kept out all over predators. So it would be possible for humans to have existed with limited contact with those kinds of creatures.
None of the assumptions you have made would prevent man from having lived at the same time dinosaurs existed. (Not saying he did, just that your arguments do not show that he could not have)

Most people accept the fact that the earth is older than written history. Those who do not will base all of their support on a book (The Old Testament Bible) that also has very little in the way of support for it's theories.
These "Fundies" you speak of prefer to try to disprove science through failed logic or come up with stories about how the dinosaur bones were planted there by God to create doubt and test faith. This is in line with thousands of years of churches changing the interpretations of the Bible to match what we know about the world.
Some people still think the world is flat too.

Hi hellblitz86. Yes we were alive when dinosaurs were on the earth. Bible tells us the earth is a little more than 13,000 years old. Some people think the world is billions of years old but it is not. We need to remember that that written history only goes back to about 5,200 years ago. There is no proof of anything older than that.
Some people try to rely on carbon 14 dating, the problem is, if you are using carbon 14 dating, you have to assume that the carbon reservoir remained constant all the way back through history. This cannot be proven. Their conclusion will be a guess at best.
Carbon 14 dating is very accurate up to about 13,000 years. After that it varies, and it varies wildly.
I was at a museum a while back and there was a display of dinosaur bones. The sign said the bones were between 60,000 and 100,000 years old. That's a margin of 40,000 years for mistake. That is not science my friend, that's guess work.
For those who say that days or nights were thousands of hours long, that would be impossible. In Genesis 1:11-13 God tells us He created plants and fruits on the third day:
"Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb that yields seed, and the fruit tree that yields fruit according to its kind, whose seed is in itself, on the earth”; and it was so...13 So the evening and the morning were the third day."
On the forth day He created day and night. In Genesis 1:14-19 God tells us:
"Then God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and year...16 Then God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. 17 God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth,18 and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good. 19 So the evening and the morning were the fourth day."
Now, if the days were thousands of hours long all of the vegetation on the earth would have burned up because of all the sunlight. If the nights were thousands of hours long all of the vegetation on the earth would have died because vegetation needs light to grow, but too much sun or too much darkness will kill the vegetation. God created 4 seasons and He created 24 hour days, just like it is now.

From movies like Jurassic Park, many people think that all the dinosaurs were enormous, invincible killing machines—humans are just too small, dumb, and weak to have lived during the time of the dinosaurs.
The truth is, humans live in a world that is still home to many incredible, large, and intimidating creatures. Large reptiles like the Komodo Dragon, anacondas, alligators, and crocodiles don’t keep man from flourishing on the earth.
Elephants can get up to 11 tons (22,000 lbs). An elephant can kill a man by stepping on him with one foot or by striking him with his powerful trunk. Yet, we have no problem taming these animals or even training them to do tricks in the circus. If man can work, play, and even go to battle on an elephant, why couldn’t man do similar things with certain dinosaurs. Yes, some of the sauropod dinosaurs grew four times larger than an elephant, but most dinosaurs were smaller than an elephant.
Killer whales (Orcas), are one of the oceans’ fiercest predators. They eat hundreds of thousands of pounds of mammal and fish meat every year. Seals, sea lions, walruses, otters, polar bears, and even moose have all been found in the stomachs of these creatures. But these are captured, tamed, and trained to do tricks.
If humans today can manipulate animals that are over 100 times their own size, why is it so difficult to believe that humans and dinosaurs once inhabited the earth at the same time?
Genesis 1:28 says, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
When man and large animals get together, whose in trouble? Blue whales get much larger than any of the dinosaurs, and it’s the blue whale that has nearly been hunted to extinction in the past.
A lot of people get their ideas about how animals behaved from Hollywood fiction. But is Hollywood trying to tell an accurate story or an entertaining story? Now think if the dinosaurs had survived today, but the elephant had gone extinct. They might have made a movie like Jurassic Park about elephants. You see, if we didn’t know how elephants behaved, they might have been perceived as monsters. The movie might portray them running around stabbing people with their tusks. Because what else would tusks be used for except for stabbing prey? They were sharp and pointy. Well no—elephants are gentle animals; now you don’t want to make one mad, but they are not monsters, they are just animals that God created for our enjoyment.
Dinosaurs are the same; they are not monsters, but just animals God created. As Dr. Jason Lisle has said, “You can’t tell the behavior of an animal by its bones any more than you could tell the behavior of me from my bones. You can make a guess, but that’s all it is.”

Dinosaurs were not all meat-eaters, as you seem to suggest, nor were they particularly "smart."
Those errors notwithstanding, the fossil record is very clear that the dinosaurs existed long before the emergence of the mammalians exerted any major influence. It was only long after the emergence of the mammalians that the evolution of humans began in and significant way.

So is your logical basis that humans could not have existed with dinosaurs because they ate meat and were bigger and faster? If so, it is flawed. Do humans eat meat? Are humans faster and stronger than chickens? Humans eat chickens. But chickens exist today. But according to you, they should not because we are faster and smarter than them.
