I know too much of anything is bad. But, I'm substituting fruit in for junk. But I think I'm eating too much for instance yesterday I had 4 bananas, 3 apples, and strawberries. I feel more hungry after eating a piece of fruit therefore thats why I go and have another.

Your particular combination is just fine. The problem with eating too much fruit is that you can develop gout. Of course, only if you have a tendency for it in the first place.

Unlike a banana, which has fat, you might consider making a fruit dip using yogurt or cottage cheese for the apples and strawberries. Fat slows down the absorption of sugar, so your blood sugar doesn't spike making you really hungry as it drops. I'm surprised you are that hungry after a banana. Try some water as well.

Yes, indeed. Hippos eat nothing but fruits and vegetation and lo and behold. The sugar in fruit adds to weight just like the sugar in pop and soda. The redeeming point about fruits is that the fruit sugar takes longer to digest-- thus not causing an unhealthy spike in your insulin level-- and also fruits come with lots of nice fibre which is great for your gut. All much better than junk food-- sugar, candy and chips. As you suggested-- everything in moderation is best.

I don't think so. There is a lot of fiber in fruit and very little fat if any. If anything it might give you a good colon cleansing. I doubt you could eat enough fruit to replace all those calories that were in the junk food you were eating. Good that you are going healthier.

Check the calories: fruit has way less calories than junk food, not to say anything about fat content. And do you know how good it is for you, as well as how bad junk food is?

Keep eating fruit, it won't make you fat. It will only supply your body with all the nutrients it needs.

well i dont know. i do know that some fruits contain water and your body retains water so you will gain water weight. also eating alot of fruit is going to make you "run to the bathroom alot". i think its best to eat right and exercise. i know its hard to do all those things when people have school work and a life lol. but just do a 20 minute cardio every few days and eat right and it should help. if you can afford it join a gym and talk to a nutritionist. if you cant just wing it you know what your body can handle and what it cant. if you feel better eating more fruit then do it. it all what feels right for you .

Substituting fruit for junk is a great idea, but just like you wouldn't want to eat too much junk; you wouldn't want to eat too much fruit either.

You can't eat JUST fruit as a snack, because as you said, it isn't filling. Try pairing it with a handful of almonds (very filling), an ounce of cheese (string cheese is nice and easy), yogurt topped with low fat granola or wheat germ (I like the honey toasted), and a glass of water. The fruit is very good for you. You just need to watch what other sugary, starchy foods you are eating-watch out for white rice, white potatoes, carrots, corn, white pasta, when you're eating lots of fruit-you don't want to overload your body on sugars, whether they are natural or not.
