Jeans are fine, but watch out for belts-- metal buckles or not, chances are you'll have to take them off at security. Also, I strongly recommend slip-on shoes. Regardless of metal content, everyone is required to remove their shoes at screening. Same goes for any kind of jacket or overshirt.
CD players are fine, but they should be in the carryon bag for security screening. Same goes for any electronics (cell phine, camera, etc.)
Just remember- empty pockets, minimal metal (hairclips, jewelry, belts, etc.), and quick on-off shoes. When in doubt, put it in your carryon before security & put it back on afterwards. On a side note, a pretty scarf or ribbon can substitue for a belt in a pinch.
Also, be aware of the liquid rules for carryon bags--no more than 3 oz. in size, and all liquids/gels /creams must fit in a quart size plastic baggie, which must be removed & screened separately at security. This includes perfumes, almost all makeup, lotions, hair products, etc. There is no limit on these in checked baggage.

Jeans are fine, the metal does not set off the detectors. Make sure she has shoes that are easy to get on and off. Most airports require the removal of shoes now.
Make sure that she goes through her purse the night before to pull out any liquids. Teenage girl things to look for: Lip gloss, nail polish, hand sanatizer, etc... It is okay to take those things if they are 3 oz or less but they need to be in a QUART sized ziplock baggy. Lighters are not allowed through at all. Also, make sure that any nail clippers, sissors or small knives are out of their too.
CD players and batteries are fine, but they need to be in the bag not on her person.
Lastly, disposable camera's... film 800 speed or lower will not be damaged by the Xray equipment. Any higher and she will need to request a hand search as not to damage her film.
Hope that she has a great time, and get her a travel size of Sun Screen. Most walmarts have a great Travel size cosmetics section.

Don't worry about your wedding ring. When you go through the metal detectors, you are asked to empty pockets and jewelry, phones, etc. into a little basket. Also they make you take off your shoes. So wear comfortable but easily removable shoes as well as easy stuff for the kids. The last time I flew was from Turkey (we're military) to the states and this was in Feb. 2002, so it was really very soon after 9/11 and it was a NIGHTMARE for me! I was traveling with 4 children, 2 of them in car seats because they were ages 2 and 3 and also in diapers, one also diabetic, so I had syringes, insulin, snacks, etc. Plus my oldest 2 kids who were 14 and 10 were both having bad air sickness that continued at Baltimore in the terminal. A real nightmare when we landed in Baltimore. I had NO PROBLEMS with anything until we got to Baltimore. Baltimore airport was awful! They had soldiers with guns standing around everywhere. We flew out of Turkey, had a layover in Germany, then in England and then to Baltimore and then changed planes to go to Atlanta. Military flights were just fine, but the civilian was the nightmare. They said we had too many bags, too much everything and had to check 6 extra bags?? It was crazy! On military flights, brief cases, purses, diaper bags and car seats do NOT count as carry ons. They even tried to count my fanny pack!! I took it off and put it in my bag. But don't you find it irritating when you have to put a diaper bag into checked baggage? It's crazy! Just try to pack lightly, dress comfortable and good luck!

You shouldn't have a problem with jeans, but sweats are the best. When I travel I wear sweatpants, a t shirt, and tennis shoes or clogs. The CD player is ok to bring but it will have to go through the metal detector, make sure she doesn't have on any jewelry, or change in her pocket.

Always check tsa.gov for update to date listing of what is and is not acceptable through security. But I personally will go with jeans, slip on sneakers, T-shirt and or sweat shirt, and most importantly, a bra without underwire!!!! I have been stopped and wanded so many times, I bought a special bra just for traveling. Anyway, I find it best to put all jewelery into my purse, through X-ray. Yes CD players, batteries are fine.

Jeans are fine and do not set anything off.
The CD players and batteries go through the xray scanner while they go through the person scanner so they would be fine too.
She could wear open toed/easy on/off shoes since you need to take shoes off for security reasons.

Comfortable clothing, easy-to-remove shoes, and a low amount of metal objects. The metal rivets on jeans won't be a big deal, and the zippers aren't that big a deal either... buckles can be.
CD player and batteries are okay. Please pack headphones.
