Hey everyone! I'm possibly going to work in a Spanish-Speaking community, Spanish being my second language. I've been a Spanish student for over 10 years and I graduated with it, but I think my Spanish might be very 'school' formal if you know what I mean...

I'm looking to verify some phrases and see if perhaps there's a more common way to say it?

I'll be working with a community from Central and South America, not Spain.

How can I help you?
Como puedo ayudarle(te)?

What are you looking for?
Que tipo de libro estas buscando (mirando) (How exactly would you phrase this?)

Let me help you.
Me permites a ayudarte.

Any other useful phrases you can think of? I'll be working in a library.

I think your Spanish isn't formal, especially since you'll be working. I was taught (while I lived in Ecuador) to always use the "usted" form when addressing others, but I know not a lot of countries follow this same rule.

Another idea:
Let me know if you need any help.
Avisame si necesita ayuda / Dejame saber si necesita ayuda.

Also, "que tipo de libro estas buscando" is correct.

Good Luck!
