Atheists are individuals like the rest of us. No one really knows how they will react when they must face an extreme situation. That is, until it actually happens. This type of thing does not happen often but when it does, it is the true test of what our convictions really are. Deep inside themselves, some may not be totally and completely convinced that God does not exist. These are those for whom the saying "There are no atheists in foxholes" was coined. A foxhole is an extreme situation where a person has little or no control over what happens. If a person has even a shadow of doubt about this, he calls upon God, because logically, if there is anyone who can help him now, it is he.

Be practical, phone the police or the firebrigade or the ambulance etc - depending on circumstances.
Atheists are intelligent enough to help themselves. If they can't, they BUY their help. If they can't afford, they will HIRE their help. And if there is no solution, why worry? It was a failure, that's all.
Two hands working can do a lot more than two hands folding in prayers.
"If the problem is such that there is a solution, there is no need to worry about it; if there is no solution, then there is no point in being overwhelmed and paralyzed." - The seventh century Buddhist master Shantideva

Depending on the trouble or danger I'm facing I'd generally ask my friends or family, or in more serious danger I'd call the police, fire brigade or coast guard.
I find that asking for help from someone that exists normally helps get things sorted quicker.
Ha ha I've just read arkansasman243's comment below.
'Get me out of this fire' - what a blatant lie.

To the one they are grateful to when they are happy.. the atheist have faith in himself...
In trouble or danger fear arises... non - atheist finds psychological relief in trusting and asking a superior force for help. some fools even invented that difficulties they are facing is a faith test .. the all knowing force is testing them and they can't deceive...
The atheist has nobody to deceive apart himself.. his fear is a form of fearlessness !
Peace baby ! lol

Atheists stay away from trouble.
In any event if trouble comes, atheists believe in their resolve, and being confident people normally get it over quickly and happily....no strings attached.
Fellow atheists are great help too.

I always say a prayer to Charles Darwin. He is my personal savior and always answers, especially when I'm in trouble or facing any danger from religious fanatics!

I generally ask doctors for medical help, lawyers for legal help and so on. I find them much more available than creatures from the spirit world.

They ask someone that can help I guess.
Educated people know that facing reality in difficult times is usually more successful than diving into fairy tales and delusions...
