A coworker of mine asked if I could suggest any scriptures to help her. She didn't give me any details about what is going on, but I know she is still dealing with grief over the death of her grandfather a couple of weeks ago. She also mentioned something about needing to confront her father about some issues from her childhood. I don't get the impression that he was abusive, but more that he was absent a lot, and not very responsible where she and her siblings are concerned. Can anyone suggest any scriptures that will help her in dealing with these issues?

Something that I have found that many people, regardless of their religious beliefs, have found comforting when they lose a loved one is the brochure When Someone You Love Dies. This can be obtained free from Jehovah's Witnesses, and be read online at the firat link below:

John 5:28 &29, and Acts 24:15, also both provide a hope of the resurrection.

2Cr 5:8 We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Absent from the fleshly body is present with GOD.

2 Corinthians 12
10That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

2 Corinthians 4
17For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
