I have seen it offered as a class in adult learning programs around the country but to pay to attend a class to recieve a list of words seemed a bit excessive to me.

> "40 Words Successful People Use"
That's just another snake-oil trick to impress the shallow and the gullible. A person with any _real_ education and class can pick out any moron parroting some "power words" or trendy nonsense _in a minute_. One astute question will will cause that whole edifice to come crashing to the ground.
It's just the latest way to separate stupid but ambitious people from their money since Samuel Smiles published "Self-Help" in 1859.
You can impress smart, successful people more by :
- speaking and writing your own language clearly, succinctly and correctly
- thinking before you say anything
- knowing _where_ to find the necessary information and how to look up information with dictionaries, encyclopedias, Google and reference works
- reading broadly, especially _outside_ your own field of expertise, and not just about the interests of the people you want to impress either
- finding precendents for any of your proposals
- not being afraid in putting forward risky proposals by framing them as "a pilot project"
- reading up about "lateral thinking" (Edward de Bono, 1967) AKA "thinking outside the box", without prattling on all the time about it
But if you you insist on only impressing shallow people, forget what I said. And pay up! ;-)

I know one very important word that successful people use:(well ok, it's 2 words:)
I CAN
Altering your vocabulary can alter your self-image as well as the opportunities you attract into your life. As like attracts like, someone who uses self-defeating language will attract
defeat. As you use positive, uplifting language so will you attract positive and uplifting experiences.
Words can actually have an effect on a molecular level, see this article:

You may want to go to this website also to see how just shifting the way you think can enhance the outcomes in your life:

Basically You will attract in your life ...exactly what you ask for...sounds a bit strange, but your "energy" and "words" tend to be much more powerful than you may realize.
Good Luck on your search for the 40 words, but personally I think if you use positive words and think in the possibility's instead of the limitations you will start to see a change in your "success"

Those 40 words (if existed) would be over-ridden by just two sentences which every succesful person uses.
One is "There is nothing called impossibility" and the other is "Learn from mistakes and keep on moving with positive thinking"

40 Words Successful People Use are almost certain to consist of a catalogue of trendy and completely unnecessary words (such as "to source" for the perfectly adequate existing words "to obtain/buy/purchase") - many of them used incorrectly - such as the use of "progress" as a transitive verb - and moronic phrases such as "at this moment in time" for "now".
My own inclination is to measure success by, for example, a person's ability to spell "RECEIVE" correctly................
