I believe they contain some of the same books that are in the bible.
The catholic church trys to get their input in on about everything because they are the Mother Church of all organized churches. As spoke of in the book of Revelations.
For your third question I really believe ( I can't prove it ) I think those the Jews were alive when they wrote it. The writers of the Bible were inspired by God.
That would really be something if a dead man could write.

Many of the books in the dead sea scrolls are in the bible. But remember at the time the books being decided on where many. Who would want to tote around a fifty pound book. Many of the books were worded the same. And some were out right unbelievable. Books written by Mary wasn't added because that would take the focus off Jesus in the New
Testament. There were many factors, the Roman Catholic church had to be editors. So yes lots was left out.

The "Holy Roman Catholic Church" did not exist when the Bible was completed. The Bible was completed in 95 a.d. For about 100 years 5 of the NT books were in dispute in just a few of the churches. Some other books began to creep into the churches over time, so a council was called to identify the canonical books and to close the canon in about 325 a.d. (about?). The Catholic church had its beginning about 30 years later when Christianity was made the state religion by law. The Catholic church was not official and it did not have its 1st pope until around 600 a.d. when Gregory came along. Catholics will argue this-but history differs.

When you assert "truly" do you imply that it proves the reality of the Bible or that the scrolls affirm the interpretation of the Bible. No to the primary one. Yes to the moment. The translation of the Dead Sea Scrolls, that have been situation within the caves at more than a few occasions among one hundred fifty BC and 70 AD suggests the accuracy of translation of the Old Testament books that have been learned. So so much for the atheist declare that folks who copied the Bible by means of hand transformed the Bible wording.

It's just like you using a computer to write your question, it's a tool. God used men to write the bible as you would use a pen or a computer. 2 Timothy 3:16 says that "ALL scripture is inspired of God . . ." And yes, the Dead Sea scrolls are the Bible. There is a bible out there that is a translation of the the original bible, whereas Bibles like the King James are VERSIONS. Think about it this way - if you and another person saw the same accident, you would give your version of what happened, and they would give theirs. Neither one would be exactly what actually happened. But if something is translated word for word, then it's accurate. So find a translation, that's the real Bible.

The Dead Sea Scrolls pre-date Christianity. They are all from what we now refer to as the Old Testament. They were the same scriptures that Jesus himself would have studied in the Temple. The Catholic Church decided what was in the bible because it was given the authority by Jesus and led by the Holy Spirit to develop the canon of Christian scripture.
Those "dead Jews", as you called them, are a part of our faith tradition. The Church is a continuation of that faith, not a replacement for it. Jesus came to fulfill the Law, not to abolish it.

I think they are parts of the "real bible", what is the real bible anyway, to me it's poems, letters, history, prophesy and stories, which comes dangerously close to being a journal, yes, or even a book of shadows, hmmm, I believe something is only as powerful as the power you put in it. As far as "dead jews", one should always respect those that come before because they lay the way for us whether you agree with what they did or not, we learn from them what to do or not to do.
