Have you ever had one of those horrible days, where you were trying to park,in a space, and you were backing into the space..(as there was a space in front of you,and a space behind you),and you were trying to back into the space behind you, so as to get into that first space, when here comes a person who never bothers to look and just zooms right on into that space that you were trying to park into!! (and get this, when you tell him this, and that you could have easily crashed, he replies right back at you"that was a great spot, you have to admit!! Right!?!!" and wears this insanely happy grin on his (*&&^%) little face!!!(which in truth , you would actually love to smack it right off of him!!!!)as he walks on ahead of you! He has NO regards for the possible dangers that he put both of you in!...sad isn't it??!!!???
and what about you all, anything like this episode happen to anybody here?(this happened to me,and my hubby, this year, after Christmas!)

Tactless people have been around since the beginning of human history-- BUT -- within the last ten years or so -- there has been a surge in the numbers of them running rampant thru the social order !! And, with every single one of them -- they create such ill will among the people that they come in contact with -- that they only proliferate the raw attitudes in others to the point where THEY begin to see others as an obstacle to what they want and how they're going to get it !!
Problem is -- that individuals like this DO need to be slapped in the head with a mallet -- but they know that this is highly unlikely to happen -- given the view of the law these days --seeing that the victims of such animals are expected to simply "endure" the disrespect and simply absorb the blow !!
Occasion has it though-- that on some rare instances -- they run into someone who has truly had their fill of it all -- and in those times -- an evening up process happens for the whole of society -- the mallet comes out and the penalty is administered -- and there is one more individual who will think at least once if not twice before pushing someone else aside without a thought !!! God Bless the Equalizers of the world !!!

Happens all the time and I have a few classic answers for you.
In the movie, Fried Green Tomatoes, 2 teenie boppers do exactly this to dowdy ole Ms. Couch played by Catherine Bates. As they do it, they yell, "oh well, we're younger and faster then you". Ms. Bates considers a few moments and then she begins to bash into their car, back up and do it again and again. She yells, "yeah, well I'm older and have more insurance then you!"
Another case, this doctor friend of mine told me that some folks did this to him at the mall, and he waited until the people went into the store. Then he let the air out of all four tires.
I'm not recommending these solutions, I just thought you might get a chuckle and not feel so "picked on".

I would say it's not worth getting upset over. You had another spot right there.
I think you would have avoided the problem altogether had you not screwed around with backing into the spot. Why not just pull right in? It's way easier to back out of a spot than to back into a spot, and it winds up taking you more time carefully backing in than you think you save when you're leaving. I've never understood why some people back into parkng spots.

I have had someone pull into a carpark as I was trying to reverse park.
I stopped in the middle of the laneway and walked right to the window and made it clear that I was waiting to reverse into the spot. Being a bloke, I probably scared the elderly female driver (although I wasn't rude or overly aggressive) and she scooted away.
Stand your ground the best you can and make the offended person think to themselves... "do I want to come back to a car with a big **** scratch on it?"
Otherwise, back down from wars you cant win - (hey Mr Bush!)

I keep a bottle of STP (OIL) in my car. I drive away find another spot and walk back.
I spread STP on their windshield. It is fun watching them turn on their wipers. The wipers spread the oil all over and it really takes some elbow grease to clean the windshield.
They have the bad day and I have a great belly laugh.
Sorry, I believe in getting even.

Make no mistake, that particular guy knew exactly what he was doing, stealing your parking spot and acting out his little "innocent boy " skit.
Just find another spot. Your aggravation will raise your blood pressure, the moron will simply think the spot was there for the fastest, most skillful parker.

It is both dangerous and rude.
As to what the person was thinking....of getting the parking spot as quickly as possible and getting on with their errands. No thought beyond that for safety or regard for others.

Oh yeah, it's happened many times to me. Usually at overly crowded parking lots at malls or even in supermarket lots. I just give them the stare of death and shake my head back and forth. If I treated them as rudely as they drove it would defeat the purpose of trying to maintain a civil and/or a pleasant attitude.

I figure they are just morons and shrug it off. Have you ever seen "Fired Green Tomatoes?" There is a sequence where this happens to an older woman, and she just crunches the other car, saying " I may be old, but I have better insurance." I think of that, and chuckle to myself. The world is full of morons.
