Nope. They are ignored for the most part. The ones that are totally irrational about it wouldn't be much help even if they were freed from religion.

I believe that many religions are holding back human evolution, Spiritually and mentally.

Firstly i don't believe in evolution in the sense it happened by chance mutations, i believe that we have been visited by intelligent beings from time to time and we have been "upgraded" from monkeys(which they made) to humans to facilitate i higher conscious state, as for religion i think, that the way it is written, the way it is presented in the holy books, only serves the purpose of institutions like churches and government although the truth is often hidden in plain sight just upside down and inside out mixed with stories of the zodiac. I myself believe in spirituality which deals with our inner workings and our connectedness to all things, but not to a holy book, unless i can translate it into real sense. i have seen a lot of hypocrisy in religion including satanism, and its not any ones fault, it's just that they need to belong and feel loved or special, and because they don't understand the bible they just go a long with the "act". so the the answer to your question is yes, i do believe religion is holding back our Development not evolution, we were designed by higher intelligence.

It is holding back the last evolution - of the mind. Religion is like a giant hand reaching out from the past - into the present - and dragging people backwards - or backsliding.

Religion constitutes irrefutable evidence that around 80% of the earth's population is seriously self-deluded, and incapable of rationality and critical thought. While I don't profess to know what effect that might have upon 'evolution', I can say that it does not overwhelm me with a sense of optimism.
In a world where almost everybody is essentially nuts, it is the few that are actually sane who are looked upon with suspicion and distrust.

No. Religion is part of evolution. Religion also evolves. Next up, the FSM.

Arguably, most is holding back human spiritual evolution as well.

Yes it has. The next evolutionary step is mental. Blind beliefs turn off an individual's ability to think logically and hold us all back.

nothing can hold back evolution. Evolution does not care about intelligence, or bigotry, only about survival and adaptation.

Religion operates on such short timescales (2,000 years? a blink of an (evolved) eye), that it could not possibly make any difference.
