Some people say why are you crying about it some countries pay much more like Japan or Tokyo. All I can say is I don’t give a dam what they pay I am talking about the good old U S A . So what if Japan pays more for gas they make billions of the USA each year we buy there steal there cars. Hondas may be made in the u.s but the cash goes back home to Japan.

Gas is a rip off, considering that we could refine our own, but alot of tree huggers don't want the refineries here in the states. We could be alot less dependent on foreign oil that we are now. I hope everyone does the May 15th deal on not buying gas on that day, I wish everyone could hoard enough gas before that date to make it thru a month without needing to buy gas, that would put billions of dollars of non purchased gas out of the pockets of the oil companies for awhile....have you heard that it is going to hit four bucks a gallon this summer? What a rip off!
When this happened back in the 70's everyone bought smaller gas efficent cars, and we did buy a Honda which was one of the best maintainence cars we ever owned.....I even changed the brakes on them....at that time my husband owned a Honda CRX and on the highway he was getting close to 50 MPG. I had a Honda Accord that got right at 36 Highway.....maybe we need to take a look at not buying the gas guzzlers again for a few years....too bad we are so dependent on gas in our every day life......it is the pits, we are on a limited income and don't go anywhere unless it is necessary.

Gas is not a rip off. Consider the costs involved in buying crude, shipping it across the ocean, refining it, and getting it to the end user. Sure the refiners are making money, but that's more a consequence of the sheer volume of the stuff being sold. And refiners reinvest that money to improve refineries and meet new government regulations regarding environmental standards. When you think about it, colas and soft drinks (which are basically sugared water) cost way more per gallon than gas!! If you find the price too high, drive a more fuel efficient vehicle, take public transit, or reduce your driving. It's a free market system after all and it's the best in the world.

Rant and rave all you want were at WAR. China is buying cars now and will keep oil prices up. Some stolen cars are containered to China. American oil refining is 20 years in the past and emission controls and environmential keep the good old USA from being the leader in oil refining we are the leaders in oil useage. Old refining plants being taken off line in the spring to drive oil prices up for summer... You think this wasn't planned? EXXON record profits last year will be eclipsed this year for sure. Still less than $10 dollars a gallon. wait till Democratic congress taxes our CO2 emissions, and gives them selfs another pay rase. Like in Europe we will be driving 1.0 liter diesels with 40 horsepower cars less than 80 inches long... Yea-Right!
