There is a difference between "love thy neighbor" and "let your neighbor have whatever he wants." Your next door neighbor may want to move into your house. Are you hating him because you say no? We have sent aid to Mexico, and other countries for decades. No one mentions it. Apparently, we are just supposed to open our borders to anyone that wants to come in. But what about your "neighbors" that already live here. How is that loving them? As a sovereign nation, we should have a right to protect our borders. Mexico does it. Ever tried to get in there without a visa or passport? Try it some time.

Interestingly enough, alien residents became a part of the nation of Israel back in Biblical times. Yet God had put a policy in place and these ones had to meet certain standards and follow set rules to become citizens.
Is it really so unfair for a nation to have a policy in place by which others become citizens?

how a person can be a good christian by following one diktat for one neighbor and another for another. love thy neighbor and kill his neighbor is the policy of Bush. So howsoever he may justify the immigration policy, he is not be called a good Christian

Very heated debate.
But I guess I could consider myself his 'neighbor' under your definition, and I wouldn't consider him loving me if he let millions of non tax payers use up my hard earned money I pay the state.
( yes I realize some do pay, but many don't, point being we can't regulate them bc we have no idea who they are)
And he does approve of a guest worker program.
Good thing the dems are in control now they can do something about all their years of complaining...
I'm not trying to be rude, I'm just stating a different view.

Love thy neighbor doesn't mean to adopt them and subsidize them to your own detriment. Its only the illegals he has a problem with.

Good Christian? GOOD? I thank you, I haven't laughed that much in a while.
But seriously, Bush is a good Christian like Paris Hilton is the next Einstien.

A Christian is someone who follows the teachings of Jesus Christ and tries to live like Him in every regard.
Therefore, George W. Bush is not a Christian at all.
