I recently bought 2 10" Rockford P2's. I wanted to know what style box would work best with them. and should they be ported or not. currently they are in a bandpass box with 4 ports and i had to cover up 2 of the port holes because no bass was coming out. would it sound better in a bigger box with no ports?

For that sub, Rockford recommends a sealed box with 0.6 cubic feet of air space, or a ported box with 1.4 cubic feet of air space and a port tuned to 40.1 Hz. You'll get more output from a ported box, but they can be more difficult to build.

Rockford's suggested dimensions for a (single) ported box are 12" tall, 20" wide and 14" deep, with a single port 4" in diameter and 14" long.

Bandpass boxes very seldom work out very well unless they're designed for a specific subwoofer.
