I have a tooth that I never got filled, and now it's breaking off at the sides and I'm visiting the dentist soon. I really don't want an ugly silver cap. Can they give me a fake tooth like they'd do a front tooth?

It not only should be possible, but alot more likely that you would get a white porcelain crown when they treat the tooth. Make sure that you tell them you are concerned about the look as well as the function of the crown (cap). They won't be offended and then you won't be unhappy. Good luck

You can go for the porcelain, if the dentist says there is enough tooth left to crown. just know it will cost more. If you dental insurance make sure there is nothing that will keep it from being covered.especially since you said it was never filled. If your dentist would rather pull the tooth and your not to hot on having a space; dental implants can be an option. Just know that these generally are not covered by your insurance.

If you havent waited to long the dentist can make a porelain crown for you back tooth, and it will look very nice. It will be tooth color.

They possibly could, but silver teeth are more inexpensive. In Florida a porcelain cap is $700 with no insurace. Insurance does not pay for porcelain because it is considered cosmetic.

First, ask about getting a crown. If there is not enough tooth to support a crown ask about an implant.
