i would agree with "me,myself" ...my answer is also Buddhism ..and since u asked for a personal story if possible, here it is...(this is an answer i wrote for a similar Q)

Buddhism made me the person i am today

i used to be a christian==my parents got divorced when i was 3,my dad turned into an alcoholic,he finally died because of that.my mum married another guy and he used to beat me and my brother for the slightest thing...through all these things i prayed and prayed to God to have some pity on me...no one answered,i just seemed to be praying to air..

nobody at church helped either..i mean all they said was "God works in mysterious ways...trust in God" blah blah ...when my whole life was falling apart....

then one day i met a Buddhist monk and somehow got talking...for the FIRST time in my life someone LISTENED to me without trying to brainwash me!

he taught me some basic dharma...i felt so much better...i went to temple a few times and then when i wanted to convert,u know what he said? he said no and told me not to make rash decisions...i was astounded because i knew from my christian upbringing that christians would never say something like this...

but he said that christianity has taught me many valuable things and never to forget those just because i had a rough time and he also said that the decisions i take while i'm emotional might lead me to regret....

so i didn't try to argue...for the next 1 1/2 years i studied Buddhism and learnt so much...it didn't take any ceremony or anything...just reading about Buddha's teachings calmed me...they're so non-violent...and Buddhism doesn't use FEAR of eternal torture to make people stick to it...it's upto the PEOPLE whether they want to stick to it or not...

i think Buddhism saved my life and it has definitely made me a better person because it gave me belief in MYSELF

it is the most tolerant and peaceful of the religions and yes, once again i agree with Me,Myself-the majority of the followers actually follow the teachings :)

The true religion originally created by Jesus and his apostles- called Gnosticism/Nazarenes.

Jesus based it on his travels across the ancient lands and it included aspects of buddhism, of respect for wisdom, of non-violence, of respect for all life, of vegetarianism, of no sacrifice to God other than ones duty to help others and speak no ill. It also included exposing centuries of hypocrasy of High Priests claiming to be good, when in fact they were evil satanic practicioners.

While the true gospels written by Jesus have survived, sadly his religion did not. It was taken over by a cancer created by Paul of Tarsus, by Josephus ben Matthias (St Luke), by the High Priests themselves. WE know it as christianity.

If only gnosticism and Nazarene-the true faith of Jesus had survived and christianity never took hold! What an amazing world this would be. How many people would have been saved terrible and wicked deaths...

Buddhism....i'm not a Buddhist but i have studied a LOT of religions and it's EXTREMELY tolerant...+u can be of any other religion(or not even have a religion) to follow the teachings-it's a way of life...i know chistians who follow the teachings..hindu-buddhists etc

it teaches love and kindness...and the best part i like is,it doesn't imply man's superiority over animals like christianity does ...it teaches that ALL living creatures have a right to live

it doesn't believe in any God...and it doesn't DISCOURAGE belief either....because it is regarded as irrelevant...the most important thing is to live a kind, compassionate life treating every living creature well and finding true enlightenement WITHIN oneself.
there is no reliance on anybody(or any God) else...it's upto oneself

it's a really beautiful and great philosophy,THE purest i would say...the reason is,it's free from the usual religious dogma....

i have found Buddhists to be extremely open minded and very nice people who get along with absolutely anybody....it's realy a way of life...teaches you how to lead a good ethical life and u can be of any religion to follow that..

oh and it's all based on logic and reasoning and from what i have read the Buddha himself has said not to believe even what he says merely because he says so...individual investigation of the truth is very much emphasized and also, strength in oneself..

noticed that it's like the only religion which HASN'T contradicted with science? lol :P

I would say none, except the one within ourselves. But if i were to say, i would say love rules the world and would be the ultimate religion. The truth is, NO religion is bad!! Just like money in itself isnt bad, power isnt bad, it is the humans behind them that are, and twist their original meanings into something evil. There are a staggering amount of people throughout the course of history who have been murdered and tortured in the name of religion, but i dont think this is the fault of the particular religion itself.

There is only one that follows Christ's teachings to the letter, but they don't call themselves a religion. They call themselves an organization.

Our poor human nature does not allow for this type of perfection, even Jesus knew that the church He founded would not be perfect as it was founded on men who were not perfect either, but the church still strives for this perfection even if it will not attain it until Christ returns and renews everything.

NONE...

religion is a personal relationship with your deity and anything more is just other people telling you that you need to believe like they do...
