on my windows xp home edition and it downloaded to my desktop and i clicked on it but it keeps saying either it is not a valid win32 application or configuration wrong try reinstalling it.
i tried reinstalling it and it still did not work then i tried the 62 bit one or something but they wont work either. then i seen virtual pc 2004 and thought this one might work but it just takes me back to the 2007 one. please someone help me by telling me how to get 2007 working or by telling me where to get 2004. please help me!!!!

sorry matthew, virtual pc 2007 will not run on windows xp home edition, tried it myself
i dont know why microsoft have denied xp home users the luxury of virtual pc 2007,i mean its still a valid os just like xp pro(which virtual pc works on),its just another daft microsoft regulation
i did read an article in computer active on virtual pc 2007,in the april issue, may still be able to obtain this, its a workshop showing you how to install and configure virtual pc,and it states it can work on xp home
look at http://everydayasp.net/blogs/mehrdad/archive/2007/04/10/how-to-install-virtual-pc-2007.aspx,and i have found a excellent guide to installing and configuring virtual pc,it is quite technical the set up but take your time
with regards to virtual pc 2004,here is the download link...http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=6D58729D-DFA8-40BF-AFAF-20BCB7F01CD1&displaylang=en.however not tried this one,but from what i can see its fully compatible with xp home so you shouldnt have a problem
however when you install it,you may find it will warn you you are using a older version of the software,be careful not to activate any download to update it to the 2007 version, which will cause you problems
trying any 64bit software on a 32bit pc will simply not work, the programs are written different.
i hope this helps matthew
good luck mate!

I believe there are some crucial networking components within XP Pro, also Microsoft is doing its best to force minor upgrades.

As to VPC2007, I am no microsoft fans, and I were sad when they took over development from Connectix, but 2007 is a great product, the ability to Virtualize is fantastic on CPU like Core2duo and AM2, I currently use it to test virus infection and run test servers/email servers. Only draw back is that all 32bit Windows only access 3GB of RAM.
