You're not going to GET this answer from Yahoo Answers!!

As your vet told you, seizures have a number of causes. Tests and investigation have to be conducted to pin down the exact cause, but this isn't always necessary since seizures can be treated/cured by symptomatic treatment.

People are going to come on here and say things like 'my cat had seizures, it was brain damage from a car accident' or 'my cat had seizures, it was a virus and it cleared up'. This is not going to help you find out the cause of YOUR cat's seizures!

Your vet has already given you the differential diagnoses. If you insist on finding out the definitive diagnosis, go back to your vet - we can't tell you on here, we can only guess because we haven't seen the cat and can't perform diagnostic tests on him! I would say if he hasn't had a fit in a while then leave well enough alone - he's young and has hopefully grown out of it. Long-term epilepsy is unusal in cats.

List of some reasons for Seizures;

a. Ticks b. worms c. germs d. viruses e. food-poisoning

I would guess however; it may be caused by Nutritional Deficiencies.

Particuarly a Deficiency of certain Vitamins called The B-Complex family of Vitamins.

I would suspect either wormings or vaccinations or possibly just absorption problems caused your Pet to deplete the B-Vitamins. B-Vitamins are for the Cat's nerves. B-Vitamins stop seizures and the like. So I would suggest keeping a bottle of "Nutritional Supplements on hand for your Cat. If cat has another attack do this:

"Powder up one Vitamin B-Complex (w/ Thiamine) tablet which you buy at the Pharmacy (100 pills cost less than $5).

Sprinkle one powdered pill daily with feed for 7 days;use mortar and pestle to powder

See if the illness goes away.

Use this treamtment whenever Cat gets sick. Or buy "Hugs and Kisses Vitamins from www.warreneckstein.com

You can also buy a bag of "Purina Naturals or Purina Natural Blends for Cats.

This formula has the Vitamins right in it.

Add a bit of this daily to Cat's regular feed.

Your vet is the only one who can answer this question and if he/she can't give you an exact cause, you may never know.
Having the cat treated is the best solution, no matter what the cause may have been.
