Ive had vertigo for a number of years, comes and goes, a couple of months ago I fell over and cut my leg it wasnt bad but its made me a bit wary Im trying to forget about it, it hasnt happened since but its at the back of my mind. Im usually out a lot with my baby and when Im holding onto the buggy I dont think about it but when Im without it I seem to miss it because if I get vertigo it catches me a bit by surprise. Im otherwise quite steady, it just happens now and then and my gp has advised me to ignore it I think its a confidene thing?

Your experiences can definitely influence you to "check" for the dizziness too often, and that can create it psychologically. Four or five counseling sessions should help you a lot with that. Also, while you are out without the buggy, take a walking stick or cane. Make it a style statement, not a crutch. You will find you just forget to be dizzy one day, and it's done with.
My mom broke her pelvis last June. That's what her doctor told her about using her cane, and that's just what happened. She hasn't used it for months.
Also keep in touch with your doctor about this issue, so if it isn't just a one time event, he or she can have enough evidence to look further into your health.

It could be fluid build up in the inner ear or it could your blood pressure suddenly going haywire or some other strange little thing. Hope you've seen a doctor but if not, I'd definitely go to an Ear, Nose and Throat specialist and see what they recommend. I've had this in the past and it is nasty when it hits. Good luck

I hope you're not driving. I've had that it's scary. What does your doctor say? When I had it it was because i had a bad sinus infection which affected my left ear and my equal Librium was off. I can't imagine having it as long as you. I hope your doctor has a cure.
