Wedlock is intended to lock sex with other than the life partner. Any action of human being is either a good act or a sin. Both the husband and the wife have duties and responsibilities towards each other. To have sex with other than the life partner is in violation of the duties and responsibilities. Hence the act is a sin.

Perhaps you should ask "Why is sex so powerful in the first place?" Then look at what that power does when it is controlled and uncontrolled. Marriage is one means to control sexual energy. Promiscuity is releasing those controls and subjecting yourself to the whims of that energy. Any uncontrolled energy is destructive. Controlled energy can be constructive, in this case it can construct an entire human being. If that human being is raised in a harmonious household, chances are they'll be a valuable one as well.

I don't believe sin to be some arbitrary breaking of a written law. I define it more as 'Action that removes one from God.' Scriptural laws simply formalise particular actions that benefit our association with divinity. Once an understanding of divinity is reached, one acts accordingly without the need to intricately study others interpretations of "God's Laws".

As a side note, "adultery" is extra marital sex. If neither partner is married then strictly it is not adultery and so technically no Commandment is broken.

It is repeatedly condemned in Scripture along with all other forms of sexual immorality (Acts 15:20; Romans 1:29; 1 Corinthians 5:1; 6:13,18; 7:2; 10:8; 12:21; Galatians 5:19; Ephesians 5:3; Colossians 3:5; 1 Thessalonians 4:3; Jude 7). The Bible promotes abstinence before marriage. Fornication is the specific term given to sexual relations before marriage. Sex before marriage is just as wrong as adultery and other forms of sexual immorality, because they all involve having sex with someone you are not married to.

Sex is considered as 'divine' for the way of creating new generations. New generations should be proud of in front of Society with their source and destination, then only the society would be great with greater fellow-followers. Thus the olden times Society has made certain 'do's and don'ts for the then-citizens out of which, one don'ts is 'not to have relationship with others' wives'. This relationship is not only sexual, but any type of relationship - as there are only two reasons for all the quarrels which lead to the world wars - either for wealth or for women. So to avoid all evils of earth , one has to be free from both wealth or women. SEX IS NOT SIN. But for Social strength, it should be avoided to the maximum extent.

What if the female wants to have sex with other man??

Its a sin because it can cause AIDS and already the World is fast becoming a place of Aids. So to avoid these things, our wise ancestors called it a SIN.

The very fact that you ask this question points to the answer. Who told you that it is a sin? Nobody, but you have an inbuilt consideration that it is bad, That itself speaks. Your conscience tells you that it is wrong. No religion permits it. Even leaving religion out of it, your conscience says it is wrong, that's why people who do it, are doing it secretively, without others knowing about it. Its immoral and unethical. But why did you ask this question in the first place? Are you thinking of doing it? Don't!!

Even if it was not written in the Holy Bible, your own conscience tells you there is something wrong with it!

If you think I am lying - a person who is not religious, does not affiliate to any faith, does he take kindly on finding out that her husband was sleeping with another woman? Be honest!!

That is true for all the other sins as well.

Because of the harms it poses to the society.
1- Children who don't know their fathers
2- Broken fmailies and relationships
3- The spread of diseases (if before marrying you and your wife get a blood test and then you both adhere to this divine wisdom there is no possibility of STD's)

God is the all-Wise and if you think clearly about the things which He has prohibited it is for our well-being as our desires lead us to evil. For more see http://thelastingmiracle.com/eng/cat.aspx?id=14

Religiously & logically is must be so for anyone who is a good person in nature , & is honest & just. Supposing u have an unmarried sister & she is going to be involved in premarital sex with someone & u come to know of that. What will be your reaction ? There must not be double standard.

What is a 'sin'?

According to one dictionary, it is the 'willful breaking of religious or moral law'. The Bible defines it as 'the breaking of God's law'.

So, let's take this in sequence.

1st: Sin is the breaking of God's law.

2nd : God's law says,'Thou shalt not commit adultery', i.e. sex outside marriage.

3rd: Therefore, sex outside marriage is a sin.

Sin is a function of the religious and/or moral realm; not legal.
