I am 17 and my bf is 18 and he invited me (really wants me to go) to his uncles wedding. Their is a ceremony and a meal..and i guess they will pay for my fancy meal. We are going with my bf parents and family and i was wondering if i am supposed to bring a present. It is a spanish family in Spain soo if any of you know what they expect and if I will seem cheap if i dont..i mean i only met this uncle and his fiancee once and i am not very close to his parents and immidiate family. What do you think??
- Thanks for your help.

I think its up to your boyfriend to get the present in both your names...its his family!
Maybe because you guys are still in your teens, your boyfriends parents might just end up putting you both on their card/present.
Best bet would be to ask your boyfriends mother, she would know better than us here ;o)

Ok If you are a escorting B/F then he buys the present and adds your name to it....Ask him what is going on with the wedding gift.. If you are feeling uncomfortable and want to do something on your own.You cant go wrong with a nice picture frame Hallmark,or Target sell nice ones that a inexpensive and dont look cheap... Dollar stores for gift bags and tissue paper..

Definitely attend the wedding... This could be an important learning experience. Since you aren't close with them... a gift is really not needed and shouldn't be expected from a nephews girlfriend... They will remember your cute smile and cheerful personality at the wedding long after anything else...

Ask that your b/f's gift be from both of you. Gifts should not be expected at a wedding, only a delightful surprise. And, like you said, you do not know the uncle or fiance.

Since youre his girlfriend you and him should buy a gift together for them and the cost will then be halved. Get something nice for the kitchen, like a silver butter dish or a set of wine glasses. It is always best to buy something useful like that instead of ornaments.

Gifts are never required, but it is traditional to bring one. Bring something small and simple. Perhaps a card with a small amount of $ in it, or perhaps a book filled with love poems.

Personally I think one never should expect presents, but rather take it as a nice surprise.
But maybe ask your boyfriend if you can sign in on their gift?

You can find something nice that doesnt look soo cheap..
You should get them a book on marriages ups and downs... its a book out that talks about newly weds dealing with coming from "mines" to "ours"..
My bff bought me this book on my wedding ;)
Good Luck

you're not expected to bring a gift because you're only 17. but it would make a great impression to them if you bring one. it wouldn't hurt to be nice and thoughtful. that would probably be around 1000 plus points for you.

No, you don't need to bring a separate gift. It's understood that you are your bf's escort, and he will take a gift.
