Yes you can take ibruprofen with antibiotic medications..... however, people who suffer from asthma or who have digestive problems such as ulcers should maybe use another analgesic such as paracetamol. It may also be a good idea to take something to eat too.

Yes its safe.

Ibuprofen is a Non Steroid Anti Inflammatory

Flucloxacillin is an antibiotic.
You can also take paracetamol with the ibuprofen, just read the dosage instructions.

Maximum doses in 24 hours
1200mg ibuprofen in 24 hours and no more than 8 paracetamol in 24 hours with at least 4 hours between doses
Be wary taking ibuprofen though if you have stomach problems as they can exacerbate them

What happens if I miss a dose?

Since ibuprofen is used when needed, you may not be on a dosing schedule. If you are on a schedule, use the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if it is almost time for your next scheduled dose. Do not use extra medicine to make up the missed dose.

I wouldn't use it for 2 reasons: First is not potent as antibiotic since it expired. Second, she may not respond to that particular medicine or even worse develop allergic reaction (since she used it in the past) Her body may be used to the antibiotic and need stronger and more potent medication now. Never use antibiotics without prescription! That's how the super bugs developed around us

Yes it is ok - if in doubt though (you might have a medical condition that might affect it) - call NHS direct. As far as I am aware though from experience this is fine, although the antibiotic should get to work within a couple of days. Good luck.

flucloxacillin is an antibiotic, and you can take pain killers like Ibuprofen in moderation.

Yes, there is no interaction issue. You can also add on paracetamol if you need it. If things remain too uncomfortable though this may indicate additional problems and you may need to seek more medical advice.

Anytime you want to know what you can take with medication, always contact your pharmacist. They've studied all these things and can actually give better answers than doctors can at times.
