Being allowed to resume strenous activities such as tennis will depend on the procedure that you underwent: Phacoemulsification (sutureless cataract surgery) or traditional extra-capsular cataract extraction (ECCE) (cataract surgery with sutures) and the type of lens used.

After phacoemulsification, I usually ask my patients to lay off strenuous activity for at least 4 weeks. After ECCE, I ask them to lay off for at least 6 weeks. But it is of course a case to case thing. No two eyes are exactly the same and no two operations are exactly the same either.

So it's really best to ask your cataract surgeon. He/she would know best.

Both eyes within a two month period. I had two different types of drops to take for about two weeks after each surgery. New lens were installed and my vision went from 20/400 to to 20/20 in both eyes. The only negative difference was that before the surgery I would remove my glasses for reading and now I need glasses for reading (2.5 magnification) and for that work, like at the computer, that is between 2-5 feet away from my face I need glasses with 1.25 magnification. I definately would not go back to what I had prior to the surgery.

Wait one week. Wear protective eye wear when you do play.
