What is it that makes it so when you are sick, your mucus is green/yellow/brown whatever?

Mucus is the sticky substance that is part of your immune system. Therefore if you inhale 'bugs' like we all do, say dust, pollen, then the mucus stops that from entering the body and making us ill. You can tell by the color of the mucus what the bug is, clever. Likewise if the mucus is clear chances are you are inflamed due to dust, pollen.................
