I have just joined a 12 week challenge at my local gym, my goal is to shape up and hopefully lose around 10 kilos in this 12 weeks (from 67kgs to 57kgs..) The Personal trainer has told me I don't have to do anymore than 5 session a week with him for 30mins at a time.. This seems too easy? (the workouts are hard but only 30mins.. can I seriously expect to lose wieght doing this) he seems to think the 10 kilo's is achievable.. The Reason why I am skeptical is Because I already do 3 hours of kickboxing a week for the past 2 years and seem to have put on weight since doing this??(and it's not muscle unfortuantly) He checked my diet and said that it is fine and healthy.. just up the water intake.. and maybe make my dinners slightly smaller(only eat 3/4 of what I have now)... Will this work?

sorry thought I should add the exercise is both a mix of weights and cardio with this trainer.. and It does get my sweating and heart rate up.. I thought I was fit from doing kickboxing, but this mornings gym class almost made me vomit... Also I should mention that I am reducing my partying ways during this time to and limiting myself to having drinks 1 night a week and only having vodka and sparkling water with lemon instead of beer and sugary drinks..

It is possible to lose weight and stay fit and healthy from working out 30 minutes a day. It's what you do that counts, not how long you do it. If you can do a strenuous workout with your heart rate staying high then you will lose weight. The reason you stopped losing weight while doing kickboxing is the body adapts and adjusts to its surroundings. It puts on just as much muscle as it needs to survive and tries to store fat as a safety net (it hasn't realized that we don't go weeks at a time without food and food is abundant now a days) so after a certain amount of time doing the same routine every week will only maintain what you have. Your new exercise program can work if it makes you push your limits and get stronger. As long as you are doing that and eating healthy, with good sleep and water intake, you will lose fat.

If your new to exercise then i would say 30 min fast walk is good to start with - say 1st week followed with some stretches and ab workout . you may find it effective in the first few weeks but as Ur stamina improves you need to move on . Try jogging for 30-45 min or walking up hill . Always do exercise that will make u sweat . I feel max 1 hour moderate to high impact should be enough . Its not the always time ... intensity matters a lot . I used to work out previously in the gym for 1/12 hr to 2 hrs each day ... i was getting no results . I got a personal trainer . He gave a program 45 min each day 4 times a week & a new programme after every 4 weeks. Trust me its is working So whatever type of execerise you like make sure u change it after 3-4 weeks . good luck

For aerobic exercise, yes it is recommended to have exercise program of 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Longer duration is needed for aerobic exercise to focus on burning fats in your body. Another alternative though, anaerobic exercise such as weight lifting, only requires 3 times a week 30-45 minute work outs.

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.
You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.
It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out Dr. Charles Livingston's video here: http://www.sexyjese.com - it will blow your mind.

for optimum fat loss you really need to do at least 5-6 hours of exercise weekly. the greater the intensity of exercise the greater the increase in the resting metabolic rate. exercising for 60-80 minutes is optimum.
it sounds like your problem lies in the diet. if you have been getting regular exercise for several years you should not be increasing body fat. you need to check your calories and make sure you are eating enough. you should never consume less calories than what the BMR requires. your trainer should have either taken body fat readings or used indirect calorimetry to determine your nutrient intake.

well no ,, and yes
You will lose weight only if the total intake calories by you ..is less the total outake calories,,
You need between 1500cal/day..2000cal/day to live and do ur activities,, you will lose weight only if u have than less of that amount/day,,, the gab will be translated to weight loss... 10kg of fat is equal to 78000 calories.. weather you do sport or not...actually u can do 3 hours sport daily , and do not lose weight if u have more than the calories u burn , in form of food
Human fat tissue contains about 87% lipids, so that 1 kg of body-fat tissue has roughly the caloric energy of 870 g of pure fat, or 7800 kcal. Therefore one has to create a 7800 kcal deficit between energy intake and use to lose 1 kg of body-fat. (In U.S. customary units, that is about 3500 kcal per pound.) ,, In other words, if you eat 3,500 kilocalories more than your body needs, you will put on about 1 pound of fat. If you use up 3,500 kilocalories more than you eat, you will lose about 1 pound of fat.
I think the max u will burn in 30 mints sport will be 250 cal,,,say,, u do also a defict of 500 cal in food....so the total u loss 750cal /day,, u need like +
100 days to loss the 10 kg...
bottom line to loss the 10 kg in 84 days u have to have a total defict of 930 cal/day.. u do that by reducing food (not less than 1500 day intake to remain healthy) and do activities to loss the rest
