I have faith and I believe that we are perfected through such measures. Please understand I do not believe they are caused by us always, nor do I believe that tey are pleasant.I do however feel they can make us into better people in many ways.I feel that it has been through the most difficulties when I have grown spiritually closer to my Savior and fellow human. What are your opinions?

````I think I'm turning into a robot. It's the easiest way for me. I just wish there was an erase and/or delete button on my neck so life would be more pleasant. Most of my pain,suffering and/or trials have probably been caused by myself. Since I've been an adult that is. Anyway, we're all accountable to ourselves. I'm close to my Savior too, I just don't agree with His ideas all the time,and He frustrates me alot. Sometimes I think He actually hates me. That doesn't make me bitter because I'm used to Him messing with my head.I know He's still around rooting for me,because I'm doing much better than I was a year ago. So, I guess my point is....I'm not bitter or better; just better at burying undesirable feelings. That is all.``````
Excellent question. I also believe that the trials we encounter are sent to better us - and they will do IF we are strong enough to continue making the right choices throughout them and not take the easy way out.
Personally, I think my own struggles have made me a little bitter and a little better. I suppose it's like that for most people. I think my life's turned out the way it was supposed to so far because I've always done what I felt was right - even if it wasn't what I wanted to do! However, although I do feel like I am where I'm supposed to be, I don't like where I am so I am a bit bitter. I begrudge God/fate/whatever his plan for me, but I think I'm sticking to it so what more can he want.
I have a good answer for your good question!
a few weeks ago my son was diagnosed with cancer , not just 1 but 3 different kinds! how messed up that was! needless to say my poor boy has a rough year ahead of him!
so in the beginning I cried day and night, after about a week of that , I became angry and bitter - why a child ?? mind you I am a health care provider! I should have all the answers! but I didn't - AT ALL -Then , after about a week or so again of testing ,surgery and learning about what we are dealing with hope restored itself a little and I feel much stronger now! my point is that tragedy will eventually make you stronger better and more hopeful , but you will have to go the motions and emotions to get there! I feel I am going there but am not quite there yet! hope this answers your question!
I used to get really angry and think "why me?" when certain things happened to me. I have grown a lot and now take these hardships as lessons. Many times I am not immediately sure what it is I am supposed to learn from these things, but I know there is something I am meant to gain from them. At my age, I have a list of health issues longer than most 80 year olds. Instead of feeling sorry for myself, I have learned compassion and patience for others. We don't always know what is going on in a person's life, so we have to assume that their is more to the story than we can immediately see.
I agree with you, always appreciate your thoughts and would like to explain it in some other way, as below.
Our knowledge is some thing like food, it needs to be digested, it takes some time to be processed, gets dissolved as the shape of knowledge nutrients particles to be part of our intellect.
Pain, suffering and difficulties act same like digestive fluids act in our stomach during food digestive process.
If we have no digestive fluids in our stomach, how we will get our nutrient particles be separated from our food. So in the same way our knowledge gets converted into perception and wisdom to become an active element of our intellect through pains, sufferings and trails.
Otherwise the knowledge without sufferings will never become fruitful for us.
Only the fruitful knowledge is the blessing and the rest is just waste/poisonous for us.
Allah almighty, the All-Wise, Has designed all of this for our benefit. Almighty He is not our enemy but He loves us 70 times more than a mother loves her child.
Humans worst enemy is Satan, who tell the short cuts, lustful and easy ways to us, too much harmful for us.
I totally agree with all the answerers above and your opinions. Amen to all! I am totally encourage by all answerers' answer!!
and I will like to bring this up. It is not God who is giving you all these trials, pains, problems and all those negative things that is happening. But is the devil. However, Father God allows this to happens because it is through these trials that will strength the bond between Father God and you, that will let you and those around you to see the manifestation of his glory. It is also to cultivate you to serve his purpose for you.
God promised that all things will turn for good for the believers.
Take this example, you are a hunter and you shot 2 birds dead and one bird wounded. Would you go for the wounded or the dead first? The wounded. Because it is still alive. That is what the devil is doing too. He is attacking the Christians because we are alive and he sees what the angels of God is doing in our lives. Therefore he wants to spoilt the plans. By having trouble in your life, it means you are going to perform great things for God!!
You may think I am nuts but I am so tickled sometimes when I have a trial to go through because I feel it is God taking a personal interest in me and He is attempting to perfect my character. He also gives us great joy and peace. He is my Father and I love Him and I value His training. When I am in the valley of despair I pray, "Lord, teach me what I need to know so I can get back on the mountaintop". Would not any good Father do that? Mmm
Life experiences of pain, suffering and trials have served as ' gifts ' in disguise to bring me to be a better person.
Everyone has their " stories ". When my closer friends hear of my " stories " they express..." With all that has happened to you in life, how is it that you have such a bright attitude, so happy with life and still like people so much ? " My reply(s) to them . . . " I simply am. . . Lifes events happen as they do, you learn and grow through them and move forward. Life really is good ".
Through my experiences. . . The Light within me has only grown brighter, more clear. . . and with that Light shining brighter...I see (God) the One in that natural Light that is and has always been there.
Sh*t happens. . . I use that sh*t for fertilizer to let things grow.
Painful experiences have been " gifts " in disguise to make me better...not bitter. Life really IS good...sour experiences and all.
First of all, welcome back :)
I beleive God makes us go through bad times so we can cherrish the good things He sends later on. Everything in this life is a trial, thus each trial is an opportunity to make the best of it - become a better human being.
