Consider that Satan has a false replacement for everything that God has made. The opposite of the Seal of God is the Mark of the Beast. The opposite of the Holy Trinity is the Unholy union of Church, State, and Spiritualism. A Baptist leader once said that honoring a dead woman, the mother of Christ, was a perfect union between spiritualism and Christianity. The third part of that union is when the government supports what the church does as the Roman Emperor once did for the Church of Rome. The first beast was the Holy Roman Empire, which later became the Roman Catholic Church, etc. Antichrist is anyone or anything that opposes Christ--not a particular entity, however this question is specifically asking about the Mark of the Beast.
In the Beginning of our World, God Created it and everything on it in six days. On the Seventh day of the week, He rested, and spent time with Adam and Eve. That was the first Holy day or holiday. It was a time to reflect on creation, and all the good that God had done. God instructed Adam and Eve to keep the Seventh Day of the week Holy...to spend specific time resting from weekly labor, and to commune with God. That was the Seal....
The day which became a day of worship for the majority of the Christian World, some 300+ years after Christ left, was based on human tradition. It is interesting that the name Lucifer has been translated to mean Day Star. Our Day Star is the Sun that our planet rotates around. Pre Christian Romans honored Apollo on the first day of the week. That day was called Deis Solis, or Sunday. If you remember your Greek/Roman mythology, Apollo rode the chariot across the sky, and the wheels of the chariot are what brought light and heat to the world...thus Apollo was the god of the sun. What a perfect ruse...a counterfeit to God's holiday. The Bible calls God's people to obey Him out of love, not fear. Perhaps the Mark of the Beast is giving honor to that Beast by celebrating on the day that God did not ask us to Remember. The Fourth of the Ten Commandments asks us to Remember the Seventh-day of the week as a holiday...Holy Day...in honor of creation week, and remembering God as our Creator. Antichrist opposes Christ--Christ said, "If you love Me, keep my commandments". Who among you believe that Christ is not worthy of our obedience? It's not too late...get to know the facts, with prayer for an open mind. Read the Bible. His Way has added what I have not said...regarding the prophecies in the book of Daniel, and the facts about the Roman Catholic Church...I am not attacking that denomination as there are righteous people in many places...I am stating the facts according to prophecy and history. If you are not afraid to read and understand what happened in history truth will be as plain as day.

The main passage in the Bible that mentions the "mark of the beast" is Revelation 13:15-18. Other references can be found in Revelation 14:9,11; 15:2; 16:2; 19:20; 20:4. This mark acts as a "seal" for the followers of antichrist and the false prophet (the spokesperson for the antichrist). The false prophet (the second beast) is the one who causes people to take this mark. The mark is literally placed in the hand or forehead, and is not simply a card someone carries.
Many good expositors of Revelation have differed widely as to what exactly the mark of the beast is. Besides the "ID card" view, others have speculated that it is a microchip, a barcode that is tattooed into the skin, or simply a mark that identifies someone as being faithful to the antichrist's kingdom. This last view requires the least speculation, since it does not add any more information than what the Bible gives us. In other words, any of these things are possible, but at the same time they are all speculations, so we will just have to see how it turns out. We shouldn't spend a lot of time speculating on the details since that is as far as the Bible goes.

Rev 13:17 so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name.
Rev 13:18 This calls for wisdom: let the one who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man, and his number is 666.
Before the invention of figures by the Arabs, in the tenth century, letters of the alphabet were used for numbers. The Greeks in the time of Homer, or soon after, are thought by some to have assigned to their letters a numerical value corresponding to their order in the alphabet. If you are familiar with the Greek of the New Testament, an argument can be made that the 666 is an allusion to Emperor Nero. Just as easily an argument can be made that the 666 refers to a "Latin Power" or, the Roman Catholic Church, Julius Caeser Atheus, Luther, and others.
As you can see from the above, there is no consensus on the interpretation. The antichrist is figurative, not a literal person, but a body of belief that denies Jesus is the Christ, the second person of the Triune God.
1Jn 2:22 Who is the liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, he who denies the Father and the Son.
1Jn 4:3 and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you heard was coming and now is in the world already.
2Jn 1:7 For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who do not confess the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh. Such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist.

I believe, the advancement of knowledge and technology, Satan is using and manipulating, to achieve (his foolish thought) his goal of controlling the world, and having the world under his power of authority, that we read so much about in the Book of Revelation.
In the Book of Revelation 13:16-17 we read; And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
How will Satan accomplish his goal of controlling the world, and having the world under his power of authority? The answer is simple when you think about it! It's through the advancement of knowledge, in technology.
Here, we are being told, it will not be through money, but an assign mark, called the mark of the beast, on the right hand or the forehead of a person.
At the time this prophecy was given, man had no imagination, of how Satan would accomplish this!
But, today, through modern technology, not only do we see this as a potential, but, the "conditioning" for it, is happening right before our very eyes today!
It's interesting here for me to note that, in our day, there is a
technology, that any world dictator of the past would have dreamed of having in reach of their hands.
And that is the electronic abilities, but which one could control all commerce, within a nation, or possible, the whole world, by a "cash-less' transaction, with barcodes, implantable chips, and the such.
Were already hearing and reading about how people can have a silicone chip implanted in the flesh of their pets to identify them if they are every lost or stolen.
All of these things that are happening technologically, fall right
into the what the Bible tells us will take place, in the last days,
where no man, woman, or child, will be able to buy or sell, unless they have a certain mark!
Is it possible that an identification chip implanted in the flesh, be the means that is used for and by Satan, to accomplish world control?

It's supposed to be a mark that people get, at first voluntarily, and then by law, where those who get it may participate in the buying and selling of anything they can. Those without the mark will be breaking the law, and be prosecuted.
I believe that the mark of the beast is going to be a chip that is injected into the right hand or forehead ( some people don't have right hands, or may elect to have it in their forehead for some reason) that can be scanned for transactions, identity ( you wont lose it or forget it in your other pants, that sort of thing) . The world's system will depend on everyone getting it. Those that refuse will eventually be sentenced to death.
So the world is going to go through yet another change, and this time, God warns people not to take that mark. He cares enough to warn people about it. Apparently the mark means something to him; ownership I think.

Bible names regularly say some thing on the subject of the bearer's features or lifestyles, as contained in relation to Abraham, Jesus, and lots of others. Likewise, the beast's selection-call encodes its characteristics. interior the Bible e book of Daniel, the distinctive beasts signify successive human kingdoms, or empires. The composite beast of Revelation 13:a million, 2 symbolizes the international political equipment, empowered and controlled by devil. The beast's having "a guy's selection," or "a human selection," shows that it somewhat is a human entity, no longer a demon. hence, it reflects human failings via fact of sin and imperfection. In God's eyes, the selection six, being in need of the Biblically finished, or perfect, seven, factors to imperfection. The mark 666 emphasizes that deficiency by repeating the selection thrice.

This first beast [of Revelation] represents the combined forces of all political rule opposed to God in the world." This observation is affirmed by Revelation 13:7, which says of the beast: "Authority was given it over every tribe and people and tongue and nation."
The Bible use beasts as symbols of human rulership for at least two reasons. First, because of the beastly record of bloodshed that governments have accrued over the centuries. "War is one of the constants of history," wrote historians Will and Ariel Durant, "and has not diminished with civilization or democracy." How true that "man has dominated man to his injury"! (Ecclesiastes 8:9) The second reason is that "the dragon [Satan] gave to the beast its power and its throne and great authority." (Revelation 12:9; 13:2) Accordingly, human rulership is a product of the Devil, thus reflecting his beastly, dragonlike disposition.—John 8:44; Ephesians 6:12.
This does not mean, however, that every human ruler is a direct tool of Satan. Indeed, in one sense, human governments serve as "God's minister," giving structure to human society, without which chaos would rule. And some leaders have protected fundamental human rights, including the right to engage in true worship—something that Satan does not want. (Romans 13:3, 4; Ezr 7:11-27; Acts 13:7) Still, because of the Devil's influence, no human or human institution has ever been able to bring lasting peace and security to the people.—John 12:31.The Bible says: "All [humans] have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) The beast's having "a human number," therefore, indicates that governments reflect the fallen human condition, the mark of sin and imperfection
Those having the mark of the beast proclaim their servitude to the beast. Thus, the mark, whether on the right hand or on the forehead, figuratively speaking, is a symbol that identifies its bearer as one who gives worshipful support to the beastlike political systems of the world. Those having the mark give to "Caesar" that which rightly belongs to God. (Luke 20:25; Revelation 13:4, 8; 14:1) How? By giving worshipful honor to the political state, its symbols, and its military might, to which they look for hope and salvation. Any worship that they render the true God is merely lip service

The Mark on the right hand means that they are supporting the Beast by their deeds.
The Mark on the forehead is like being owned by the beast.
Slaves used to be marked in the forehead..........
“If anyone worships the wild beast and its image, and receives a mark on his forehead or upon his hand"
-Rev 14:9
The Beast encompasses Politics and False Religion.
"And I saw the wild beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage the war with the one seated on the horse and with his army. 20 And the wild beast was caught, and along with it the false prophet that performed in front of it the signs with which he misled those who received the mark of the wild beast and those who render worship to its image." Rev 19:19-20

I believe that "the mark of the beast" is referring to people who love money, popularity, etc. Think of it - "in their foreheads" could refer to their thoughts. The "beast" symbolises worldliness. Only those who love and serve God will not have "the mark of the beast" because they will not be serving "the flesh".
IMO many people already have the "mark of the beast"... they are trading with each other because of greed, etc. There are few people who can be financially successful in this "dog eat dog" world, without putting money as their highest priority.
Those who love God have "received His image in their countenances"... the light of Christ's love shines in their faces. These are the people who haven't received the "mark of the beast". They are those who are focused on God.
That's how I see it.
