The Mormon church claims to be the only true church. In God's supposed revelation to Joseph Smith, Jesus Christ told him to join no other church for "they were all wrong . . . their creeds were an abomination . . . those professors [members] were all corrupt" (The Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith-History 1:19). Mormons teach that after the New Testament, all churches became heretical and no true saints existed until the "Church of the Latter-day Saints" was organized, hence their name. Non-Mormons are thus called "Gentiles." The new revelations given to Smith, the institution of the prophet and apostles in the church, the restoration of the divine priesthoods, and the temple ceremonies make the church authentic. True and full salvation or exaltation is found only in the LDS Church.

Elohim, the god of this universe, was previously a man in a prior existence. As a result of having kept the requirements of Mormonism, he was exalted to godhood and inherited his own universe. God is confined to a "body of flesh and bones" (Doctrine and Covenants, 130:22) and yet is thought to be omniscient and omnipotent. He obviously cannot be omnipresent. There are an infinite number of gods with their own worlds-these too were previously men. The Holy Ghost, Jesus Christ, and "Heavenly Father" comprise three separate and distinct gods. Heavenly Father sires spiritual children in heaven destined for human life on earth. All humans, as well as Jesus Christ and Lucifer, are god's heavenly children. (See Doctrine and Covenants, 130:22; God, Jesus, and the Spirit thus had beginnings.)

Response: God is spirit and is not confined to a physical body (see John 4:24). Jesus Christ was incarnated through a miraculous and nonphysical conception through the Virgin Mary. He was fully God from the beginning (John 1:1). Together with the Person of the Holy Spirit, they form the triune (three in one) eternal God.

Jesus Is God's "Son"

Jesus was Heavenly Father's firstborn spirit child in heaven. He was begotten by God through Mary as in a "literal, full and complete sense" in the same "sense in which he is the son of Mary" (Bruce McConkie, A New Witness for the Articles of Faith, [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1993], p. 67). These two elements of Jesus being literally God's son form his uniqueness in Mormon theology. In the Garden of Gethsemane, as well as on the cross, Jesus atoned for Adam's sin and guaranteed all humankind resurrection and immortality. Jesus visited the Israelites or Indians of North America after his resurrection and established the true church among them. We are the spiritual, but literal, younger brothers and sisters of Christ. Some Mormon documents claim that Jesus was married at Cana in Galilee (see John 2) and had children himself.

Biblical Response: Jesus is viewed as God, the Word or Son, eternally existent with the Father and worthy of identity as God (see John 1:1-14). He was born of the Virgin Mary who had conceived him supernaturally by the Holy Spirit. He lived a perfect life, died on the cross for the sins of the world, and was raised from the dead. He will come again and reign as Lord of Lords.

Humans Are Gods in Embryo

Every human being has the potential of becoming a god by keeping the requirements of Mormonism. A wellknown statement within Mormonism is, "As man is god once was, as god is man may become." From a prior spirit existence in heaven, humans may be born on earth in order to exercise freedom to choose good or evil and to have a body for the resurrection. Basically, humans are good, but they will be punished for their sin. But by keeping Mormon teaching and obeying the Church and the Prophet, after the resurrection, worthy Mormon males may pass the celestial guards, bring their wives with them, and achieve a status similar to Elohim-the god of this world. The consequences of their sin are erased by their allegiance to the tenets of Mormonism. In resurrection, faithful Mormons receive exaltation to godhood and will exercise dominion over their world.

Biblical Response: Human beings are God's special creation. There is no evidence from Scripture of preexistence, rather God acknowledges that it was in the womb of our mothers that He formed us (see Isa. 44:2). A sinful nature is part of humanity's experience. Liberation from the power and presence of sin is experienced as a result of faith in Christ. At that point, God's image is begun to be remade in every Christian. While being transformed to Christlikeness, the Bible does not teach literal godhood as the inheritance of the saints (see Rom. 8:29; Rev. 1:5-6).

Latter-day saints (mormons) believe that we are all spirit sons and daughters of God the Father, including his Son, Jesus Christ. LDS scripture supporting this and detailing the battle in heaven in wich Lucifer was cast out (also refered to the counsil in heaven) is not found in the Book of Mormon. It is in another book of LDS scripture called The Pearl of Great Price. It has a very interesting history of how it came about. And is writings of Moses and Abraham of the old testiment that are not found in the modern biblical cannon.

To us, we are all spirit children of God. Our spirits were created before the world was created. Christ is God's first born spirit "child". Satan was also a spirit child of God. This makes them brothers in the sense that they were both created by God. They were both in Heaven before Satan rebelled (Revelation 12:7-9). Because of this, he was cast out of heaven, along with his followers.

Does this mean that Christ is less because they were spirit brothers? No!! Does this mean that Satan is any different because of this fact. No!! In fact, it makes him worse for the fact that he knows us. He knows our personalities, what we could do in certain situations. He really is mad at us for not following him, and for choosing Christ's plan over his. He's mad at God and will do anything to take what God has- mainly you and me.

These facts get so twisted that people believe all the crap out there about us. They aren't willing to learn something and understand it. There are many scriptures that show this concept. A lot of people have listed some of them. The Jeff Lindsay site listed before is a very good one to answer this question, and many others. Feel free to check it out. It will give you info into what we really believe, and helps to clarify a few things.

Does this question really matter? We all have one thing in common that we know for sure we are going to die. No one not even scripture will help you the day of your death. The day you die will you be thinking about Jesus or who his brother is or is not. Get ready for the day will come. Who are you no one stays hear on this earth forever Why? This is the real question. Does your mindless scripture till you this truth. Where do you go when you die and you will. Do not waste your time worried about what Mormon's think. Think who are you and where are you going after you are done hear on this earth.Think out side the box or you may just live in one forever.

I am not a Mormon. That is what they believe. There are of course no scripture verses to support this notion. There are none from the Book of Mormon (the most correct book on the face of the earth they tell us) that support this notion.

I know they use to teach that satan and Jesus are brothers. I have had LDS members tell me so. And the mormon church is a satanic cult. How can Jesus and satan be brothers when in John 1:3 clearly states that Jesus made all things, not God the Father?

Deuteronomy 14:1 Ye are the children of the LORD your God:...

Psalms 82: 6 I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.

Hosea 1:10 ¶ Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God.

Matthew 5: 48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Acts 17: 29 Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

Romans 8: 16 The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Ephesians 4: 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Hebrews 12: 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?

First, we believe that ALL people are sons and daughters of God - an entirely Biblical concept. The Bible teaches that we existed as sons and daughters of God before we were born, and that Christ was there, too - a Son of God. See Heb. 12:9; Acts 17:26-29; Deut 32:8; Job 38:4-7; Deut 14:1; Prov. 8:27-31; Colossians 1:15-17; Numb. 16:22; 1 Cor. 1:11; Jerem. 1:5; John 9:1,2; Titus 1:2; and John 20:17.

Christ, the Firstborn and greatest of all, is one of thsoe sons of God, making Him a brother, yes, but also much more than "just" a brother since He was co-creator with the Father and destined to be our Savior. He was the Word and Redeemer, who seeks to help all of us, already sons and daughters of God by premortal inheritance, become true Sons and Daughters of God who enter into the presence of the Father and become more like the Father (Romans 8:14-18; Phil. 2:5,6).

Is he really our Brother? Yes, certainly . Romans 8:29 says that Christ was appointed beforehand (KJV uses "predestined") to "be the firstborn among many brethren." This is exactly right: he was the firstborn in the spirit (and the Only born of God in the flesh) among his many brethren (and sisters) - namely, us.

Yes, technically, Satan is the brother of Christ, but so are all of us and all the angels, both good and fallen. But anti-Mormons want to make this doctrine sound scary by leaving out the information that would explain our position, and suggesting that somehow we worship a false "Mormon" Christ who is like Satan. Ugh!

It's a Biblical doctrine that Satan was in heaven originally but fell from heaven. Satan was a spirit being (or angel) in the premortal existence that we all shared, who, as Revelation 12:7-9 describes, rebelled against God and was cast down to earth, with those angels (spirits) who followed Satan (see also Jude 1:6, 2 Peter 2:4). Lucifer (Satan) was in heaven and was "a son of the morning" (Isaiah 14:12-15) who sought to usurp God's glory and throne, rather than follow God's will (see also Job 1:6, where Satan comes into an assembly among the sons of God - these sons of God, premortal spirit children, existed before the creation of the earth was completed, according to Job 38:4-7).

Just as we see the potential for great goodness and great evil in humans around us, so has there always been such potential among the spirit children (Heb. 12:9) of God who are blessed with liberty to choose God and Christ or to choose evil. Satan chose the greatest evil possible and still works toward that end. That he was in heaven and was a "son of the morning" among the spirit beings there ("morning stars" in Job 38:7) makes his fall and his guilt and his eternal punishment all the more terrible. But our understanding of who Satan was and is - a fallen angel, by choice a total and complete enemy to God and Christ - does not make us unchristian, in my opinion. Nor does it give us any respect for that abominable being!

I can go to a museum and see actual ancient documents that our Bible is translated from.
When I can go to a museum and see the famous golden plates, I'll consider looking into what Mormons think.
Till then, I'll not bother too much about it.
I am content to know that Jesus is Lord.

Its actually quite simple.
God created everything.
Mormons believe in the godhead, not the trinity.
We believe christ is a separate being than heavenly father.
God created everything, including christ, us, and the devil. Therefore we are brothers and sisters of everyone. Including the devil.
