thing singles to engage in? I'm apporaching my mid 30s and tend to be drawn to the younger 20something set, since like me they're still trying to "find themselves", career-wise and because a good portion of them are single.. A bulk of my own friends are now married and have kids. I think they have their free time all layed out - when not at work, hang out with the wife and children! I'm a litle confused being in my 30s and single. Where do people of my age set go to have fun and what type of hobbies and/or activities are good ones to involve oneself in? I like to dance, but many places that have dance floors tend to cater to 20something singles. I hate feeling and possibly looking like the "old man in the club". I'd appreciate your input.

It is true that there aren't many places catering to 30 somethings. Singles clubs are what is available for the most part and they include 40 somethings, 50 somethings 60 somethings etc. I don't beleive in 'age appropriate'. If I want to dance I go to the dance clubs and dance. Maybe I am the old man in the club but I'm the Best looking and best dancing guy in the club as well. And you are likely to meet women of the same mind set of your age group there. People who like to dance will do so, regardless of what other people think. The same holds true for skiing, swimming, or any other activity you can think of. Do what you enjoy wherever it is available. Meeting someone will happen somewhere along the way. And you never know, you might meet a Mrs right that is still 20 something....

Church or a house of worship is good because you meet lots of people of different ages and they'll usually set you up with someone. Volunteer work is also great: try the things that are done in one day, like picking up trash on the lake or river or beach or in a lousy neighborhood. Also try running groups, like "hashing" groups if they have them where you live, or a hiking group. You can also go to the gym -- it's better to go after work than before work. You can take dance classes, too: they're always looking for extra men.

Hmmm good question I dunno never really thought about it..I love going to the bars and it aint the age thing I just love the atmosphere..i like playing pool while drinking a cold one, every now and then I go to the park for a walk or bring a book to read,..go fishing, listening to music and taking pictures, I actually love going to flea markets, or garage sales, feels like I am treasure hunting, or going to the mall to try out outfits..just to see how i would look with as a punk, ****, boss lady, librarian,whatever..I travel alot so I get to see different cultures and I do love learing new languages.i guess I never really thought of myself as needing to find a place to fit in but I understad what you mean by everyone is all settled in and here I am still roaming but then thats just me I find things to do to occupy my time..hope you find something to entertain yours..

btw seems all my married friends envy my life when at times I actually envy theirs..weird..
