Hi, I have a multi entry visa for China, 40 days in and out.
I'm running on a NZ passport. What's quicker / cheaper. Leave china (to either Korea or Hong Kong) then come back in, or apply to have my visa extended. Am on holiday and there's just sooo much more to see!! Any advice appreciated.

You won't need to extend if you have a multi entry, unless you want to stay longer for each stay.. A trip to Hong Kong will suffice.. If you want to try and convert your visa to longer stays, I've included an excellent Hong Kong Resource for obtaining your visa there and applying for extension..

Business visa applicants currently need to have an invitation letter arranged in advance. China has in the past changed requirements past in response to political events, so it is important to keep up to date with requirements to avoid being caught out just before a crucial trip. Although not always required as part of a visa application, a visa letter of invitation can often be a deciding factor in a government's decision to issue or not issue a visa. The letter of invitation is proof a visa applicant has a legitimate visiting interest in the country and gives the government assurances that one of its citizens is taking responsibility for the foreign visitor.

Americans can extend tourist visas twice, not sure about NZ, but I am sure it would be cheaper to at least try to extend it, if you need to go out of China it will be cheaper to go to Hong Kong, you can fly into Shenzhen and go across the boarder several ways, check out www.ctrip.com for great plane tickets, you can fly to Shenzhen for about 800 rmb, did it last week and vacationed in HK this past week

Extend it in China. Its easy and you don't have to fly out of the country. Are you planning to work in China, pretty soon you will eventually have to get a work permit.

They are getting pretty strict about it.
