I have a food allergy, and carry and epi pen. I looked on the TSAs website, but it mentioned nothing about them. There is a needle inside and that's what makes me worried. They're not exactly cheap for me to replace so I do not what it confiscated. Does anyone know if I'll have a problem?

this is from www.tsa.gov under air travel in the hidden disabilities section:
All medications in any form or type (for instance, pills, injectables, or homeopathic) and associated supplies (syringes, Sharps disposal container, pre-loaded syringes, jet injectors, pens, infusers, etc.) are allowed through the security checkpoint once they have been screened. Atropens, an auto-injection system that can help treat many emergency conditions (low heart rate, breathing problems, and excess saliva related to insecticide, nerve gas or mushroom poisoning) are also allowed.

when i took my daughters epi pens on a plane....they didnt even ask for documentation, they told me since it was a prescription and thename on the ticket matched the label thats allthey needed, but you may want toget documentation just in case......ive found that usually you just have to tell them of a health problem and they accomodate.

Phone the airline on which you will be travelling -- you may need to have a doctor's certificate with it, but if it is essential to your health, they should certainly find a way to make sure it is at least accessible to you, even if it means leaving it with the cabin attendant for the duration of the trip.

You should not have a problem if you have documentation from your physician stating that you need to keep it within arms reach. The airline may require it to be stored with an attendant or something, but will be accessible.

Its allowed, but you MUST have a doctors certificate saying that you need it. Carry it everywhere you carry your epi pen and show to authorities.

Yes, and you can even take a piece of paper to write on with that pen!

Bring doctors paperwork with their contact information and prescription along just in case they have an issue with it.
