I am 25 and had a total abd. hysterectomy a couple years ago. I have not been on any HRT but recently talked to my doctor about taking something to help with my sex drive (or lack there of) and the normal menopausal symptoms. He prescribed Estratest. I was hoping to get a better idea of what I can expect from this...side effects...will it really increase my sex drive...how long does it take to start to feel it working...stuff like that! I really need something to help me feel like a normal young woman! I am unable to take estrogen due to medical concerns.

I would greatly appreciate your help! I am a little nervous to start taking something that is pretty unfamiliar to me but I really need something.

Thank you to all who take the time to answer!

I had severe endometriosis that attacked my kidney, bladder and liver. It eventually started to cause kidney failure. I am not able to take estrogen because my body needs time to let the endometriosis die off and I also have a large breast cancer risk as every woman in my family has been diagnosed! (Just a little more info! :) )

it should help but may take a few weeks, I am curious as to why would you require TAH at such a young age and why can you not use simple estrogens, I hope it was not a cancer or not a family history of estrogen sensitive cancers. all the best
