ok this may not make sense..
but you know after you tie your hair up and then take it out, from where you have had it tied up, there is a usually obvious 'line'. E.g i have wavy/curly hair and when i tie it up and then after a day take it out there a crease thinge from where it has been tied up.
Does anyone know how to get rid of this, or prevent it?

There's no way to prevent it if:
1) the hair is put up damp
2) the hair gets damp while it's up (even head perspiration)
3) if it's tied with an thin elastic band or similar.

The wider the tie, the less-pronounced the ridge. Scarf-only or big scrunchy only leave less of a line.

I twist mine up, rather than tie-ing it: no problems here.

I can't stand when my hair does that, so I have had to stop putting my hair up except only for short periods like when I bathe my kids and need my hair out of my face.

You can also use hair clips and they won't do what ties and scrunchies do you your hair.

You cant really get rid of it because its similar to setting your hair. Its been pinched all day, so it keeps that shape, just like if you wore curlers all day.

You can try to use a curling iron or a straightener to fix it if you want your hair straight, but if you dont want that crease, then dont put it in a pony tail.

OMG. I get that all the time! What I noticed was that if I just leave my hair plain without doing anything to it, it happens. But then, I straightened my hair, then put it up for paractice, and when I took it out it was hardly noticeable.

Try using bio-silk OR use clips instead of ties.

That doesn't happen to me, but I get what you're saying.
Try using scrunchies instead.

Get rid of it -- wash your hair
prevent it - wear your hair down

Use a barette or a scrunchie.
