what's the point of eating a healthy, balanced diet when you have pills containing all the nutrients you could want?

I used to think the same however, it's important to know that not all vitamins and minerals are equal. The vitamins contained in their natural form as found in fruits and vegetables and whole grains are much better than those contained in pills. Vitamins are complex molecules and often in pill form, only the preservative portion of the vitamin is found and not the rest. And also, the other molecules contained in fruits and vegetables help your body to better absorb them.

I still use my multi every morning but I now realize that it's still important to eat fruits and vegetables to get the whole form of the vitamins as often as you can. I hope that helps as it was the information that helped me understand why it's important to not just turn to supplements (vitamins, protein, etc.) for the nutrients we need.

The Multi Vitamins you take only supply you with the hardest to get vitamins and minerals.
They expect you to get the casual stuff like protein, calcium, and vitamin C through eating.

But if you really wanted to you could buy like 10 different vitamins and pills to have everything you need then just drink two gatorades for a full meal.
You could live like that if you really wanted to..
But it would kinda suck I think.

You're supposed to get your nutrients mainly from the food that you eat. The vitamins and such are supposed to just fill the "nutritional gaps" cause it nearly is impossible to get all of the essential vitamins in minerals just from your diet.

foods give us the correct protiens and nutrients.
according to studies pills not only contain protiens and nutrients but also contain a mineral [i dont remember the name] which burns our liver slowly.so excess tablets are not good for health.a healthy diet helps us to stay healthy.

If you don't eat healthy it won't matter what kind of vitamins you take. You will still end up feeling sluggish, and gaining a lot of unwanted pounds.
