I had a stray once that I named Skeezix. He's a character from '
Gasoline Alley', a newspaper comic that has been running since the 1920's. Skeezix was left on his adoptive father's doorstep in a basket as a baby.

That happened to me and i named the cat fred I chose a silly name because i never thought i would see him again but its been almost two years and he hasn't left he is now my baby=) I would go with pepper.
