I was raised four-square (think: non-denom or church or god). I had intended to become a preacher. I was christian from 8 to 18. I have studied wicca, satanism, hinduism, buddhism, chaos magic (this one was pretty good as a solitary practice, IMO), taoism, islam, and have cursorily browsed many others. I gave up on trying to find a religion that suited me. I did decide, however, that I would continue to study religion and try to pick out the pieces that spoke to me. I am intellectually agnostic but I do not feel that there is a god- if that makes sense. I generally prefer philosophy to religion, but religion can be poetic and there are some pretty useful psychological tools to be found therein.

I was born and raised Roman Catholic. I've been to many different types of services (Christian and non-Christian) and also hang out with lots of atheists, but haven't seen any other church or group that has fulfilled my spiritual needs in quite the same way as the Catholic Church. However, if I were to leave Catholicism, I'd probably become an Episcopalian. For a non-Christian religion, I also like Reform Judaism. There are many groups, beliefs and teachings outside my own religion that I admire.

My mother tried to raise me as a catholic. Got as far as first communion. I always had doubts, even when I was very young. In catechism for example, I remember the nuns pulling me out of class, and talking to me in a dark room. Was very spooky. Apparently I was asking too many questions. I was 7 or 8.

I was calling myself an atheist by the time I was 14, and have remained so to this day.

I have never "tried on" a religion. However, I am interested in Buddhism, not as a religion but as a philosophy on life.

I myself have evolved to the point where I do not need to live by any religion but to live as a loving soul apart of one humanity. The soul is beyond all religions and lives as a creative being who knows no limit when it comes to being a spiritual being.Soon now we all will know of only one world faith and that is the law of one world religion embracing all of humanity in a spirit of love and good will, this the World Teacher will teach when he comes out in the open and begins his mission of bringing the world together as one in the very near future. Maitreya is here for all of humanity and not just one religion.

My parents tried to bring me up Catholic. I didn't have any major problems with it until I went to Catholic school and learned what we were actually supposed to believe. That made me agnostic, during which time I looked into a few other religions - Judaism, Hindu, Bah'ai - but none seemed any more knowledgable or real than Catholicism, so now I'm an atheist. Willing to change my mind given any new evidence, but not expecting any.

I was raised Southern Baptist, left that when I was 29. Tried Lakota (Native American) beliefs, was agnostic for many years and finally came back to the faith when i was 35. I learned alot, figured out alot and know alot more about God with that time away, it made me question Him and I could no longer deny His existence and power and inturn, I came back. (NOT southern baptist anymore lol)

I've always been an atheist. I have tried Unitarian, Episcopalian, Quaker, Lutheran and Disciples of Christ. None worked out too well for me since I couldn't make myself believe in a God that I don't believe in.
