Also take a look at Paradigm from Canada. They make great speakers in price ranges from $149.00 to $5700.00 U.S.. I am not a fan of horn designed speakers and the brightness they produce. The Paradigm Monitor 9 run about $1000.00 CA for a pair or the Monitor 11 for $1300.00. My last pair of Paradigm survived 15 years of hard use and held up very well and still sound great. Much better "Rock" speakers in my book!

i think you have the price all wrong there alot cheaper than that. Anyways i have heard these speakers and yes theres no doubt about it they are good. These speakers will deliver the bass you desire. I was suprised by the amout of bass these speakers produced and it sounded good too not too punchy pretty tight. They have good tweeter a little bright though. They hit all they way down to 35hz so you dont nesseceraly need a sub.

There only $346 a piece at best buy

although these speakers are very efficent i would recomend a good high current amp to power those big 8 inch woofers.

i actually own this amp and believe me this thing can power anything and really bring ut the bass in your speakers. its not expensive too. its on sale for $219 after you add it to your cart.

and if you really really want pounding bass i would buy this sub. i used it at magnolia home theater and it really belts out the low frequency's. This thing will definently shake walls, windows and make the neibhors hate you. also this sub has a digital amp which is nice.

Your question is quite a contradiction!! A floor status speaker would not oftentimes have a stand, so i could anticipate you have bookshelf audio gadget and a series of stands. The spikes on the backside of the stands are to isolate the audio gadget from their environment. you ought to use them in case you have carpet on your floor, they are going to pierce the carpet and touch the floor under. in case you have sturdy flooring, eg. timber, tiles. Then nevertheless use the spikes, yet once you should guard the floor, use some pennies/funds blu-tacked to the floor below the spikes. some manufacturers furnish spikes on the final plate of the stand, yet i could propose blu-tack returned, because it is going to supply a stable sturdy bond between speaker and stand. final analysis is flow play and test for your self, the above will supply the main precise overall performance out of your audio gadget. loose the spikes and the isolation and you will pay the fee with further bass. yet in line with threat thats what you pick........

If you like the Klipsch sound, I would check out their Reference line of speakers. You have to go to an audio specialty store though, look on the Klipsch website for an authorized dealer.
