We only witness to the lost about Jesus. So they will know the truth and have the chance to accept Jesus. So they can go to heaven and not hell. Jesus is the only way to heaven and everlasting life! Without Jesus in your life. There is only hell. People hate christians because they tell the truth and some people are scared of the truth. so they use hate. Christians have love in there hearts. Jesus is love!

Why do people hate in general?

Don't hate, that's such an strong word. Intensely dislike is more like it. And not all Christians. Those that actually follow the words of their namesake, and not Paul or what their preacher spews from the pulpit make wonderful neighbors and friends. Those that show compassion and humility, love and acceptance are able to function in mainstream society with others that don't believe as they do, showing kindness and living in peace and harmony with the world.

On the other hand, those that take Christ's name but their actions, words, thoughts, and motivations in no way resemble him are the people that I have a problem with. Spreading their hate, trying to control everything and everyone, not for the good of humanity, but to feed their own meglomania. Today's "Christian" leaders don't walk with Christ, only the almighty dollar and lust for power.

Ever stop to think before you witness, that your audience just doesn't care what you have to say? Ever stop to consider that perhaps they have heard all the fairy tales, and decided to use common sense by saying No Thanks? Ever stop to think that your words are just foul, empty wind, and instead of wasting time trying to convert, maybe you should be out helping those less fortunate in your community? Ever stop to think that living a Christ-like life is better than talking about it?

Remember: actions speak louder than words. And by the actions of the majority of Celebrity Christians, the message sent is disgusting.

Answering you own question as you have is somewhat telling. You seem troubled (maybe genuinely curious, possibly rebellious or something else entirely).

Hate of any sort comes from fear, ignorance, rationalizations of many kinds and assorted other reasons.

It is rather the height of arrogance for anyone to believe that there is truly only one "great and highest truth" or "but a single and only one way to 'heaven' ".

Throughout the history of the human species (as we think we know it), at best, humans have proven themselves to be frail and weak. We all need help and support (No man is an island.) .

Ignorance, fear and/or irrational rationalizations seem to be at the root of any kind of hate. The conversation certainly will continue because faith is really all that we have when it comes to "knowing".

Hang in there. Fight the good fight, if you can discern what that really is. Then comes the question of shared values.

I believe we often do not know that we are in agreement over important issues (ignorance) and strike out at others because of this (fear of being "bested") and soothe our consciences with false rationalizations.

And there is the very real possibility that true evil truly exists.

At least you are asking ...

If you are genuine in your search (and continue), perhaps that will be enough.

It takes a lifetime.

Some who claim to be Christians have "a form of godly devotion" but don't live their lives by it. (2 Tim 3:5) The reputation of Christendom is really bad and hurts true Christianity; their works will determine what sort of end they'll have. (Matt 7:21-23; 25:31-33, 41-46; 2 Cor 11:13-15)

The reasons can be unique to the person.

Envy, Christians seem to have something they don't have.

Hate, Christianty threatens them in some manner. In India Hindus hate them because they threaten the caste system.
In America militant homosexuals hate it because it has a value system and rules that call homosexuality a sin. Other people hate it simply because of the value system it has. And they simply don't like it when they are told what they are doing or want to do is wrong.

I am a Christian myself, but for starters there are too many Christians that think they are better than other people and try to 'force' their opinions and ways onto people.

Think of it like politics. I know it is a bad example, but to make the point. We can invade whoever we want to to give people freedom and all the wonderful things the west has, but it doesn't mean they are going to appreciate your effort or even like you.

The way they grew up and lived is the way you will have to approach the matter.

Your attitude, which you're displaying here, is exactly what makes you hated. Your condescending, arrogant, presumptuous statements like saying "we tell the truth and you're just scared of the truth" are SICKENING. Your beliefs are not truth--they are beliefs and will always be. Nothing more than a hypothesis, to go along with the other MILLION (or more) god hypotheses out there.

You act like you're sure, but you're not. And you're conceited enough to think you have a right to go around telling people you're right and they're wrong if they disagree?

How DARE you? That's what I say.

Well, I certainly don't hate Christians :) But I resent your use of the word "lost".

Also, your "truth" is not everyone's truth. To assume that others have not reached the same truth as you because they fear it is unfair. It *is* judgmental, whether you care to see it that way or not.

It's because of "Christians" and "Churchianity" (I've got to thank Schneb for that term--I love it!). When someone labels themselves as something--whether they live it or not--everyone else is going to associate their actions with their label. So when people who are not really living for God call themselves Christian, the whole faith is going to look bad.

We don't hate you we only feel sorry for your sad state. You live in the same kind of euphoria as the users of drugs such as opium. As with other addicts we try to insert some reality into your life and explain that your path to euphoria and loud speaking of the "Good News" of you addiction is not acceptable to those who don't wish an addiction to control their lives.
