Is the work done by the Salvation Army run on donations alone?

I know they have appeals, donation boxes and gain profits from second hand clothing/furniture shops but do they get some sort of funding? Do the tithes in the churches also go toward the humanitarian work or does it go straght back into the churches?

The Salvation Army have their own churches. They are run on donations and charity only.
