Like my cousin who lives in a Pentecostal household...The guy's like 16 or 17 but he watches kid shows and plays with water guns. He was never allowed to read certain books, watch TV, study different religions, play cards.

You contradicted yourself. He watches kids shows, but is not allowed to watch TV?

As for watching kids shows, I'm 51 and I like to watch kids shows, especially the Teletubbies. I have grandchildren in that age range. I have several water guns. Some of the old farts in the building have water gun fights when it hot outside.

Just because he is religious does not mean he is brainwashed. Sounds like his parents are making sure he is disciplined and has boundries and morals and values. To me the parents are doing a good job. At least he is not out getting in trouble or in a gang.

Perhaps the parents are trying to protect them from all the bad things in life..or the things that lead to bad things..bad by God's standard..not societys.

I think that limiting a child's education in this manner is tantamount to child abuse.

Is he happy? If so, why don't you just accept him? He is not the one brainwashed. You are.
