Sounds like your diagnosis is correct. It can usually be controlled with medication. A lot of teachers and parents don't understand the disorder. Please see a doctor. Good luck, I'm sure once you get help you will be fine.

Have your parents take you to a neurologist to see if you really have Tourettes. This is a nervous disorder characterized by tics. Tics are involuntary movements, such as blinking, sniffing, head and neck bobbing, arm and leg movements, and blurting out certain words. These tics are uncontrollable, and the person who has them feels compelled to do these things. The body cannot get relief unless the tics are done. Your symptoms could be something else, but the fact that you yelled out something makes me think it could be Tourettes. You may just have an obsessive-compulsive disorder. But to be absolutely sure, get a professional diagnosis. Often times the tics can be outgrown, and usually occur in children from eight years old to the teens. Have a doctor examine you, especially if these symptoms become more frequent or worsen. Good luck!

Only a doctor can properly diagnose you. If it is Tourette's, it's nothing to worry about, as it's certainly not a life-threatening disorder. Medication controls it if necessary.

Do not be too alarmed. How long is some time??? SOme tics come and vanish never to appear again, but do see the doc. Being worried is no way to be.
