I think the nicest showers are those held in someone's home - usually the MOB or MOG, with sisters and aunties helping out. That way you can gather 20 to 25 women and girls from both sides of the family, and just get together for a fun event. What you do depends upon your budget, but sometimes simpler is better. Don't have to decorate a lot - even just streamers and bells. Have a few games planned, but mostly it's just a time for everyone to get together and chat. We usually have close family members help out with bringing food - finger foods, fancy sandwiches, assortment of desserts - and decide if you want wine, or just non-alcoholic punch.

Make a guest list, so you have an idea of how many people you'll have. Choose a theme. Then pick decorations, food, entertainment, etc. to go along with it.
