Hi people..Well,I am a hypochondriac..and now I am really, really worried about something. But I am so frustrated, because I don't feel like anybody understands this, and I just would like some comfort and peace inside of me..because I just am so goddamn worried right now.
Ok..Online, before I saw a hoax picture of a thing called 'breast larvae' it is the most disturbing picture I have seen in a very long time.I cant get the image outta my head.I read a thing online also, that the article was a fake and a hoax..and I read many people that read about it and were posting stuff like that they were so scared, and how that image was so disturbing and nasty..But me, being a hypochondriac I am like way more worried now..cause,now like..my breast has these rashes on them, and they are itchy..has it on both of them, but on my right one it's more itchy..and I took my bra off thinking that it was infested with something, cause I didnt wash it in awhile. But,do I have that disease? Please ease my mind.

By your own admission, you are a hypochondriac, and as such, you imagine you have all kinds of horrible diseases, real or imagined. Seeing something like you described on the net, only perpetuates the problem. The fact that the article was uncovered as a hoax, did little to ease your mind or assure you that there is really no such thing as a breast larvae. However, something in your makeup refuses to believe the truth of the matter.

The mind can play a lot of tricks on a person, especially one who is predisposed or obsessed about illnesses. It can even produce the symptoms of the disease that you are convinced you have. No, dear, you do not have that disease, but you might have a rash from contact dermatitis or an allergy -- something perfectly harmless, or maybe nothing at all. Your bra may have not been washed, but it was not infested with anything. Rest assured that you do not have a disease that doesn't even exist.

My advice would be to see a psychologist. Perhaps he or she can help you get over your hypochondriac condition and improve the quality of your life. You shouldn't have to spend the rest of your days worrying about being sick or contracting illnesses.

Also, much of what you see on the net should be taken with a grain of salt. While there are excellent websites, there are others that are a complete hoax. In time, you may be able to tell the difference, but if not, I really think the only sickness you really have is your hypochondriacal condition. Picture yourself as being healthy for a change. That might be the secret key to overcoming your unreasonable fears. Good luck!

There is no such thing as breast larvae. I mean this seriously, you should seek psychological therapy. No, it doesn't mean you're "crazy" or anything like that. Everybody needs professional help once in a while. You should get help with some of these anxieties before they progress into Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder.

No. Come on. You know that it's a hoax. The posts are hoaxes, too.

You need to get some counseling/therapy for your phobia. They can help you.

But there is NO such thing as "breast larvae." None.

I saw that nasty pix also, but remember that she was in a foreign country which is very primitive compared to the U.S. I am a nurse in an internal med. office, and you may have a fungus like candida, which can be treated with clotrimazole cream (which is also used for athlete's foot) You may also try hydrocortisone cream to relieve the itching. Either way if it persists, you need to see your physician. Good Luck!
