I need some help creating/translating a name. In one of my stories, my character travels to a tiny Italian village on the Mediterrenean. I would like for the village to be named something like "the rock where the sinners become saints" or "where sinners become saints" or something along those lines. I would like help translating that into something that a real place would be named, not just what a translation engine gives me as a direct translation of the sentence (which doesn't look that reliable, to me). Anyway, if anyone can offer me any help, it is greatly appreciated!

The village's name you're looking for, if you really want it contains all the meanings as per your post, would be ugly long. It would sound really weird since there is not in Italian a short wording to express everything together.
My suggestion is to give up the reasearch of a total translation and to go with something that's absolutely Italian and that contains just a bit of the original meaning.
My suggestion would be SANTA ROCCELLA and I explain you why.
Santa = a lot of Italian locations have this adjective "Santo" meaning "saint , holy" that equates in Italian to a sanctified place; here it changes into Santa to agree with a female noun.
Roccella = means "little rock".
On the whole the name means then "santified little rock" and so you know there is a small fishers village in South Italy (Calabria) which name is Roccella Jonica (little rock on the Ionian sea).

There is a town in Italy called Pietrasanta, or "Holy Rock", and that's about as close as you'll get in Italian to "the rock where the sinners become saints". A place name like that would sound as ridiculous in Italian as it does in English.

The name "The rock where the sinners become saints" could be interpreted like that:
"La pietra dove i peccatori diventano santi".
And "where the sinners become saints"
"Dove i peccatori diventano santi"
