It sounds like a more posessive thing like I dont want other guys to look at you so give it up. If make up makes you feel good and you like to wear it than he should accept that. it seems like an odd thing to break up over but I guess thats not for me to judge.

I don't overdo the makeup to begin with, but there are instances where it is necessary. If I want to wear makeup I will. I'm not that crazy about earrings either but sometimes it does make the outfit look that much better. Personally, I would do what makes me happy regardless of what he thinks. If doesn't like what I do then he and I shouldn't be in a relationship. Try talking to him, maybe you can compromise, like no makeup or earrings in the house, but you do have the option when you go out. If he's still insistent, then maybe that's not what you need. Good luck.

It sounds more to me like he's the controlling type and wants you to stop looking attractive around men.
My sister's boyfriend used to say the same thing for her and made her stop wearing skirts and any kind of low cut top! She went along with it and has never been able to get from under his thumb now.
In all honesty it would depend how my boyfriend said it. If he very politely and tactfully hinted that he would prefer me with less makeup, perhaps I would think about it.
I suppose if you do trowel it on and if you wear massive hoop earrings, I could see his point. Personally, I find less makeup attractive on a woman - I dislike heavy foundation and lipstick.
But your boyfriend is giving you ultimatums? Why did he get with you in the first place if he doesn't like your makeup and earrings? Because he liked it when he first met you and he's scared that other men will like it too!
If your boyfriend was very bossy about it and demanding, leave him, but if he seemed concerned about hurting your feelings and was tactful, maybe he's just trying to give you a head's up that you might wear too much makeup!

Girls wear makeup to make them feel good about themselves so they can impress a guy right?? Well, if your boyfriend loves you the way you are with no makeup, mission accomplished! You got him with the real you, and now that you have a guy that likes you for you, why would you need to impress anybody? the only time I would wear makeup thought whiel your with him would be when your at a job interview or a speicial occasion to look nice if your skin is bad! Good Luck!! and Keep him because youve got what every girl is looking for and thats a guy that likes you the way you look with no makeup just the way you are!! Id take it as a huge compliment if he was my boyfriend and it would make me feel 1000 times better about myself and give me a new confidence!

I guess it mainly depends how much you care about your boyfriend. I'm married and my husband says I look best with no make up on, so I don't worry about wearing around him. But he doesn't mind if I want to wear it out cause I don't use a lot and it still looks natural. Earrings are easy, I can live without them. No inanimate objects should come before caring about a human being. Not sure if you're just wondering or if your boyfriend asked this, but it's a small price to pay. Be flattered he likes you with no makeup.

If he said it like "you're a lot cuter without the special effects and props" that would be one thing, but an ultimatum about anything as relatively trivial is not cool.
Are you wearing really heavy make up? I got to say, some girls go so far with it that they are actually embarrassing to be seen with, like if you pluck your eyebrows out and draw them back on, outline your lipstick beyond your natural lips or put on eyeshadow that would glow in the dark.
Here's a good rule of thumb for wearing make up around guys: if we notice you have it on, it's too much.

I wish you tell us more about your relationship I'll give you an example " say I'm dating this beautiful woman who doesn't require make up because she's just perfect I'll convince her she does not need make up as it's only a beauty enhancer & God gave it all to her
Now if I'm an important person (say a person every woman wishes to have ,well accomplished ,successful & my girlfriend & her whole family knows it )& she's passionately in love with me & I'm not a freak & she can tell from my attitute in respect to all other aspects of life not just make up & ear rings . she will not be on yahoo for anyone's openion She'll do what I asked her to do Right???
Now look at your situation If your friend is a worth while person Do it if not You do what's right Good luck

Wow, that boyfriend sounds lika a diamond in the ruff to me. He loves (you err... her?) for whoever she is and doesn't like her to cover up her true self. Ahhh... *sigh* but that doesn't always appeal to everyone so it's all a matter of how they both feel about the issuse, if the girl likes to wear make-up they should talk about it together and if the boy continues to presist maybe the relationship won't work. No boyfriend can be that aggrsive for some people.

I'm not completely sure I get what you are asking, but I think I do. Would I leave him if he said I don't need make-up or earrings for him to think I am pretty? No. I think every woman dreams of a man that truly loves her for who she is. But if I chose to continue to wear earrings and make up, and he threatened to leave me because of it? That seems silly and extreme. I would be concerned there was some type of control issue going on with him, then.
Hope that helps.

I wouldnt do it. If Im dating a man he cannot tell me what I can or cant wear or do. He is not the boss of me. If he doesnt like me wearing makeup or earrings thats his problems and I would leave him. Once you change your look for him he will be demanding that you change something else and then something else until you have totally changed for him. A real man would accept you as you are.

It depends on how he put it when he asked me not to wear makeup/earrings.
IF he said something like "you look beautiful without these things"..then I might honestly consider giving them up.
but IF he said "you cannot wear these"..I would dump him. I'm not the kind of girl thats going to be blindly bossed around by some guy. Its not going to happen and he's either gonna get over it, over go away.
