Yeah, I know what you're talking about. When I was severely depressed, I felt like I just had nothing to say. When I did want to say something, my mind felt so foggy that I couldn't think. If you're trying to express your feelings about what's going on with you to someone, maybe try writing a letter. That way you could have as much time as you need to think about what you want to say and how you want to say it. Hope this helps.

Hello white. I am a depression sufferer too. I haven´t had that trouble talking. It is important that you get professional help and find the right meds (Cymbalta has worked for me). Acupuncture and yoga are really helpful. To talk is an important thing in depression. Talking to a psychiatrist may help you to find the root of the problem, but this mind that is slow can be caused by neurotrasmiters not functioning properly so this is why you might want to take pills. Time to have a talk with your Dr. If you are on meds, they may need to be adjusted, or you may need to start meds. I have a problem with not putting things together right and saying the words 3 or 4 times before I get it straight, simple things like confusing words and having to stop and start over. Like at Starbucks and wanting to order but cant seem to remember what I want to order. Meds have helped that.

I have depression too and I'm having effexor and risperidol as my medication. I used to feel really depressed but now. I don't feel that anymore. I think what makes me change is that I cultivate the habits of trying to live beneficially. It helps me a lot. It increases my self-worth. My speech becomes more fluent because it benefits others and I always receive positive feedback and it encouraging. Now, I'm concerns less about medication I'm having and doctor appoint me with longer period. I think it will work for you too.

I know it's difficult, but make an appointment with your doctor, and describe this, it sounds like clinical depression, and can be helped. I've had this for many years, and for a long time, I didn't say anything, but i have found it's better to ask for help.

You need to make an appointment to see a counselor to discuss this depression. Why be in this emotional pain any longer, get help and then you can move on with your life. Take care.

See the section on depression treatments/resources at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on page 2. Practise talking in the mirror as you improve.

I know sometimes my meds make me have problems getting my words out. It seems I "tie my tongue up in knots" and it just doesn't want to work. I suppose it is really my brain not wanting to help me form words. I don't know, but I know it can be embarrassing. Hang in there!
