First of all, I'd like to apologize.

Wow. I never knew this. I never knew what other Christians were saying to atheists. Well, I guess you learn something new every day.

My father-in-law is an atheist and I've never even mentioned the words "death" or "last days"/"times" to him. Maybe that's the reason he is respectful of my beliefs.

Every time I talk about my faith, I talk about life. It's always about life--in one way or another. Where did life begin? Life had to have a beginning. We still have not been able to create life from nothing, nor will we ever be able to. Life is the stamp of God's hand in creation.

And then the confidence I have in my life that comes from knowing God. It is so amazing and so simple. Believe that Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again. Then, He gives you direct access to God--and Peace in life that most will never have or understand.

It is not a life for wimps though. It is tough. Because as you walk with God, others who do not know Him--and who certainly don't understand your God-given purpose in life-persecute you.

But you know what? It's okay. I have Peace inside my heart and soul that only another true believer understands. That's what makes my life all worthwhile. The Peace.

I don't have an empty place in my innermost being. That place that God puts in each of us.

It's like a puzzle piece is missing inside each and every person out there. (It's the place that makes you feel empty and lonely.) Only God fits that place.

Many try to fill the emptiness with another person, entertainment, material goods, sex, drugs, you name it. But all of these things only mask the emptiness for a short time.

Then there you are in the middle of the night--and it's you. Only you and that horrible empty place in the very innermost part of you.

Well, guess what? God fills that place in me--and after He filled it in my life, I've never had that horrible empty feeling again. I'm never lonely. He's always there. All I have to do is pray--and He answers. But, again, I must say this isn't for wimps; because for Him to answer me, I must be living my entire life for Him.

Death? (So it scares you huh?) I'm sorry to disappoint you. As far as I'm concerned, death has nothing to do with my belief in Jesus Christ as my Savior. Furthermore, I don't think anyone should change their beliefs just because they are afraid. "God does not give a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind." Jesus also said, "I came that they may have life have it more abundantly."

Life? Peace that allows freedom in a way that most cannot understand? Yes! That's why I'm a Christian!

If there are churches or Christians trying to scare atheist, sure they aren't true Christians. However, when death is mentioned in gospels, you have to know that there's a different meaning on death word. There's a human death, meaning leaving our by now useless bodies, and the true death. The death that Christ's trying to tell us is the real death: the empty, the death of the conscience and the spirit. That is the end of those are trying to kill (or scaring) other kind of consciences.

I'm a Christian, and I won't tell you you're going to hell (that would be presumptuous on my part.) I also won't call you stupid, or tell you that what you believe is a myth. What I WILL tell you is that many people find spiritual beliefs to be a source of comfort and peace. God gives us a choice to believe, but doesn't force us to do so. That's the example I try to follow - I'll answer questions if you ask them, and I'll listen to what you ahve to say, and we'll talk about where we agree and where we don't. Beating you over the head with my beliefs is just going to annoy you, not convert you. Peace.

Christianity is not about death nor is it a cult. It is about redemption and salvation. Death is a part of that because all mankind is born finite. We have a physical beginning, birth and a physical death. We witness to the non believers because they are the ones in need or lost. We want everyone to share in life eternal. Death is not a scare tactic it is a fact of physical life.

We all will die. That's a truth that we can't escape. What happens after you die depends on what you do now with the man called Jesus who stated plainly that He was God in human form.
You may say that you do not believe in God. I understand that. But not believing it does not make it any less true.
If you say you do not believe in gravity then step off a cliff, you will still have a very long fall.

I don't know for sure, I guess you are talking about people that tell you that you will go to hell when you die?

I love that being a Christian gives me life. Freedom. Purpose. Abundance. Meaning. Eternity. Joy. Forgiveness.

that is what being a Christian means to me.

Christians appear to be proud to only live once and die once. Whereas many of us expect to live and die many times.

If that's their gig, they should just go to it. I just wish they would stop trying to drag others into their dead end.

Because that's what their religion uses on them to keep them in.
They figure it'll work on others too.
