he bagged oranges (how nice of him) he observed and confronted a farmer, who had stolen oranges. Was it the ones he bagged?(unknown)

for his blackmail he acquired 3 of 5 stolen oranges.

some how known to the owner he confronts the boy and demanded two of the tree oranges leaving the boy one for his troubles.

Then the other man came and took his last orange. (a half at a time).

now he had none

(unknown) did the farmer steal his bag of five oranges? were there five oranges in that bag?

ETHER THAT OR NONE HE WAS WALKING AND THEN GOT THE ORANGES

hey i have really tried but my brain's gone rusty, what is this called again?..........algebra!

if he stole 10 oranges gives half =5oranges
5-1/2 =41/2

41/2 gives away 1/2 =2
2-1/2=11/2
11/2 gives away half = 1
1-1/2=0.5oranges
having come this far, i think he stole 10, let me know how i fared!

Sack= x
farmer= a
random guy 1= b
random guy 2= c

a= X x .5
b= a x .5+ .5
c= b x .5 + .5

x= a+b+c
